Taking GEBHARDT’s intralogistics solutions to the next level for our customers required the kind of functionality and ease of integration with our existing ERP that only SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration could deliver. The decision was clear and easy.

Providing customers with up-to-date information about their equipment

GEBHARDT already provided customers with comprehensive support for transport and assembly systems, as well as storage, sorting, and distribution technology. But the company recognized that the quickly evolving manufacturing and internal logistics landscape was becoming increasingly digital and interconnected. To better support its customers in their growth and development, GEBHARDT sought to transform its own offerings to provide customers with greater access to current and accurate information. Smart manufacturing technology would help customers reduce costs by increasing operational efficiency.

Enabling easier access to relevant data

By connecting its existing ERP solution from SAP with the SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration solution, GEBHARDT was able to push current, up-to-date information from its on-premise system to its customers. Users can now access and download the latest information about their GEBHARDT equipment using a self-service platform. The authorization concept in SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration helps ensure that customers can access only content that is relevant to them.

The solution associates data and content with a single piece of equipment, simplifying and streamlining the process of supplying customers with useful, actionable information. Information available includes metadata such as equipment name, type, weight, size, performance metrics, and content about perfect-environment conditions, payload, and location, as well as data sheets, technical specifications, and maintenance instructions that include videos. All this support and information is available to customers using a single sign-on through SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration.

Increasing customer satisfaction with greater operational efficiency

Integrating SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration with its existing ERP solution, GEBHARDT enables its customers to operate more efficiently with self-service access to valuable information. Actionable data helps customers reduce the effort required to gather data for important decision-making about equipment and the internal logistics involved in operating and maintaining it.

GEBHARDT has the technology to extend its digital offerings to its customers. This includes providing ease of access from the GEBHARDT Galileo IoT platform to SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration, which is enabled by the single-sign-on functionality of the Identity Authentication service from SAP. This seamless entry point reduces friction for customers and improves operational efficiency for customers and GEBHARDT alike.
