SAP announces additions to its newly released SAP Business Data Cloud solution, including intelligent applications, new data products, and a number of AI-boosting capabilities.

 

Intelligent Applications

Intelligent applications are prebuilt, composable applications that integrate data products, AI capabilities, and business simulations designed to support business leaders. Covering all lines of business, these applications go beyond traditional analytics by automating and orchestrating work across both analytical and transactional workflows, enabling customers to make decisions and act within SAP Business Data Cloud. Additionally, intelligent applications learn from enterprise data and usage patterns to automate routine tasks, helping businesses work more efficiently.

 

At the SAP Sapphire conference, SAP unveils the People Intelligence package in SAP Business Data Cloud, an intelligent application that helps HR and business leaders make proactive, informed decisions to take more strategic actions, drive higher employee engagement, and help ensure compliance. Available in H2 2025, People Intelligence connects and transforms people and skills data from the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite into readily available workforce insights and AI-driven recommendations. The initial capabilities are based on workforce composition, skills, and compensation data products.

 

Additionally, SAP Sustainability Control Tower, SAP 360 Customer, and SAP Spend Control Tower will be available within SAP Business Data Cloud. SAP will introduce these and other capabilities as part of its intelligent applications: Core ERP Intelligence, Customer Intelligence, Finance Intelligence, and Spend Intelligence. These solutions will harness the power of SAP Business Data Cloud, adding value to customers’ existing investments. A limited customer release of these solutions will be available later this year.

 

Data Products

SAP also announces plans to deliver hundreds of data products by the end of 2025, covering the entire SAP Business Suite. A key component of SAP Business Data Cloud Intelligent Applications, data products are composed of curated and governed data, metadata, and business semantics from SAP applications and third-party sources that help companies address a variety of business use cases.

 

SAP is announcing a range of sustainability data products on SAP Business Data Cloud, which will be available in Q4 2025. New environment, health, and safety management product compliance data products from SAP will provide structured, validated, and governed information on air, water, and wastewater emissions. Other sustainability data products, including products from the SAP Sustainability Footprint Management solution, will also be available by the end of 2025.

 

New SAP Business Data Cloud Features Supercharge Business AI

SAP is also announcing new knowledge graph features for SAP Business Data Cloud to help companies drive more powerful business AI by revealing the attributes and relationships among data.

 

In 2024, SAP made knowledge graph capabilities accessible within SAP Datasphere, a key component of SAP Business Data Cloud. Today SAP goes a step further, announcing that the knowledge graph can read and map metadata from SAP Datasphere and linked sources.

 

Available in Q3 2025, the expanded knowledge graph capabilities within SAP Business Data Cloud will provide important context for more relevant, accurate business AI initiatives. Now that Joule for SAP Business Data Cloud is generally available, data professionals can ask questions about metadata within SAP Business Data Cloud and receive an immediate response, saving them from time-consuming research.

SAP Business Data Cloud Everywhere

SAP announces that SAP Business Data Cloud will be available on hyperscaler platforms including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure by Q4 2025.

 

Expanded Ecosystem for Intelligent Applications 

  • Accenture will launch six intelligent applications for finance, supply chain, and HR built with SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform, and SAP Business AI. With general availability planned for Q4 2025, these applications will provide recommendations to improve business outcomes, automate daily processes, and address unique industry challenges to accelerate informed decision-making.   • Adobe will partner to have an intelligent application on SAP Business Data Cloud that combines SAP supply chain and financial data with Adobe digital experience data in Adobe Experience Platform to generate deep insights for joint customers. Real-time marketing demand signals will enable more precise financial and supply chain planning within the SAP Cloud ERP solutions, while access to deep supply chain data will assist with more precise marketing.

  • Capgemini is developing an Intelligent Application within SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) that will support business decision making. The application will be built using SAP BDC and SAP ERP Cloud data products to create a decision tree that will help assess customers’ data management and analytics needs in the short-, mid-, and long-term. General availability is planned for Q4 2025.

  • Deloitte will introduce two Intelligent Applications built within SAP BDC called ZoraAI for Finance Assistant and ZoraAI for Supply Chain Planning Assistant, building on the Zora AI portfolio of functional agents, that will be able to perceive, reason, and act, helping organizations to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and focus employees on more strategic activities.

  • EY is developing an Intelligent Application within SAP BDC to better manage financial risk and deliver actuarial insights. Using ledger and subledger data from SAP Cloud ERP, the new application will help insurance companies simplify risk management, while more easily meeting regulatory and accounting requirements. General availability is planned for Q4 2025.

  • KPMG is developing an ESG Intelligent Application within SAP BDC, called Double Materiality Assessment, to support clients’ sustainability reporting journey. The application, based on regulatory requirements, can support companies develop a compliant and auditable double materiality assessment and provide a solid basis to define and establish appropriate governance structure and allocate sufficient resources. General availability is planned for Q4 2025.

  • Moody’s will work with SAP to help customers and partners build intelligent applications using Moody’s risk datasets, integrated with SAP's accounts receivable data, to boost cash flow and default predictions. Combining SAP and Moody’s data will help customers pinpoint high-risk clients, optimize collections, reduce bad debt, and more. Results include enhanced forecasts and more targeted collection strategies. This solution will be available in Q4 2025.

  • Palantir and SAP are partnering to facilitate joint customers’ cloud migration journey and modernization programs. Seamless connectivity between Palantir and SAP Business Data Cloud will enable customers to build a harmonized data foundation across their enterprise landscape. SAP Business Data Cloud and Palantir Foundry and AIP will transform data silos into a trusted data foundation that enables human and AI teaming in the real world.   • PwC is developing Intelligent Applications in SAP BDC that will leverage data products from SAP and third-party sources to help companies better manage financial and supply chain processes. CFOs can use this bird's-eye view of a company's financial health to drive a more nimble business strategy, with a solid foundation for risk analysis and profitability management. The applications will also help proactively manage sustainability risks and compliance. General availability is planned for Q4 2025.

  • Thomson Reuters will help customers navigate the fast-changing landscape of global trade and tariffs, with an application that allows users to model total landed costs across alternative scenarios to optimize trade routes, cut costs, and maximize profitability. It will also offer detailed insights into historical prices, taxes, duties, tariffs, shipping, and warehousing—delivering a comprehensive view of financial supply chains. General availability is planned for the end of 2025.

SAP and Google Cloud have a long history of empowering global enterprises to transform critical business data into powerful insights that optimize operations across finance, supply chains, and more. Today, the companies are building on that partnership and extending their collaboration in the context of integrating SAP Business Data Cloud and Google BigQuery.
