Siemens Healthineers AG is on a mission to pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare for
everyone everywhere—sustainably. The company equips healthcare providers with
innovative technologies and services in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, laboratory
diagnostics, and molecular medicine as well as digital health and enterprise services.
Adhering to diverse packaging regulations, from plastic packaging taxes in the UK to
extended producer responsibility obligations in the Netherlands and Germany, is a
complicated undertaking for a global business. Siemens Healthineers also wanted to
go beyond compliance. It aimed to identify the downstream impacts of its packaging
material choices and gain a clear overview of its sustainability performance.
