In line with our purpose to help the world run better and improve people’s lives, SAP has embraced the UN
Sustainable Development Goals. We strive to execute on this purpose by being a role model for sustainable,
purpose-led operations and by enabling our customers to operate in a sustainable way.
Following the adoption of the SDGs by the world leaders in September 2015, we identified and aligned existing
initiatives with all 17 SDGs. We looked at the environmental and social impacts of customers using SAP
technology and applications, linking these impacts to the SDGs. While we are committed to using our extensive
resources and reach across more than 25 industries to contribute to virtually all of the 17 SDGs, we focus on
eight where we believe we can provide the most value, namely
• 3 Good Health and Well-Being
• 4 Quality Education
• 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
• 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
• 10 Reduced Inequalities
• 12 Responsible Consumption and Production
• 13 Climate Action
• 17 Partnerships for the goals
In discussions with our ESG steering board and our external sustainability advisory panel, we defined the SDGs
for which there is a tangible and material link between our own operational activities or the use of our software
by customers. The potential impacts of our company as well as our products and services related to these
eight SDGs in focus are summarized in our SAP Integrated Report - be they positive or negative, direct or
indirect.
The stories behind are featured in this web book to showcase tangible examples. They make us equally proud
and determined for the work to come. We invite you to join us and help achieve the UN Global Goals through
individual initiatives as well as partnerships.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being[Link]
Mental health, physical and psychological safety, and well-being are a key pillar of a people-centric workplace,
the engagement and productivity of our people, and the drivers of SAP’s transformation and success.
Therefore, SAP promotes a healthy growth culture for people to bring out their best, embracing both individual
and organizational health. SAP’s focus and investment into health, safety and well-being are a testament to its
employees, external workforce, customers, and business partners, laid out in its internal Health & Safety Policy
and the corresponding Health & Safety Commitment Statement.
An extensive health and safety management system based on International Labour Organization’s
Occupational Health and Safety standards is used for global governance and local implementation of
standards by empowering organizational leaders to shape a healthy and safe work environment in line with
local regulations. The Business Health Culture Index (BHCI) collected in people surveys supports an unbiased
assessment of our workplace – from well-being and work-life balance to overall organizational health. The
Stress Satisfaction Index is an early-watch KPI for managers to gauge employees’ resilience and to take
appropriate action on individual and organizational level.
We are constantly investing in health and well-being programs and solutions along the SAP care cycle, including
a mandatory Health & Safety training for all employees, Leadership enablement, the "Are you ok" Mental Health

SDG 4: Quality Education[Link]
Education enables upward socioeconomic mobility and is a key to escaping poverty. To build an educated
workforce, everyone must be provided the opportunity to learn. Governments need to create the right
conditions, but corporations are in a unique position to contribute - especially companies like SAP.
As announced at TechEd 2022, free learning offerings on the SAP Learning site are tripled, partnering with
world-class learning platform provider Coursera Inc. to help people launch careers within the SAP ecosystem
and empowering underserved audiences in technology. In addition to the SAP University Alliances, SAP Next-
Gen and SAP Young Thinkers programs, other examples of our support in the development of technical skills
are:
• People to Work by SAP is a globally available program, delivered by local SAP partners, to improve
the living conditions of people through publicly funded training to become a SAP software consultant,
developer, or user.
• SAP India launched in 2017 Code Unnati, which aims to develop digital literacy among adolescents,
citizens, and children and employable IT skills among economically disadvantaged youth. Since its
inception, Code Unnati has reached over 4.68 million participants, delivering both digital literacy and
advanced IT skills. The initiative operates in approximately 350 public schools across three states,
equipping nearly 100,000 students with state-of-the-art digital labs. Additionally, 45% of job-seeking
participants have secured internships or jobs, and many become first-generation entrants into the
formal economy. Through the initiative, they are getting that guiding light to see ahead to a bright future.
In addition, we invest in innovative education models and foster our engagement with multistakeholder
partnerships to enable pathways to employment and entrepreneurship in the digital and green economy for
underrepresented, underserved, and underprivileged youth between the ages of 16 to 24 as well as adults.

• In 2019, the UNICEF, Generation Unlimited (GenU), and SAP partnership launched in India, Turkey, and
Vietnam. Since then, the collaboration has equipped over 7.6 million young people in these regions
with crucial digital skills training. The partnership expanded in 2022 to include Kenya, Nigeria, the
Philippines, and South Africa, aiming to provide opportunities for over 1 million young adults in
cooperation with YOMA (Youth Agency Marketplace).
• In 2024, we further expanded the SAP Educate to Employ (E2E) program to Brazil, Germany, and India,
broadening our ‘learn-to-earn’ pathway for marginalized youth. More than 400 learners have already
enrolled, with 168 completing 550+ training hours and earning the SAP Technology Consultant
Professional Certificate. The E2E program not only fosters job placements through SAP User Groups
but continues to drive meaningful impact across the global digital economy, with strong interest
reflected by 15,000 applicants for 400 SAP scholarships.
• Through on-site and virtual pro bono consulting, we enhance the organizational capacity of impact
businesses while developing SAP employees. Our on-site SAP Social Sabbatical program has engaged
1,700+ participants worldwide over 12 years. In 2024, we expanded our virtual consulting via the
TRANSFORM Support Hub - developed by MovingWorlds, a social enterprise connecting professionals
with impact-driven organizations. Together, 160 consulting projects for nonprofits and impact
businesses have delivered US$7.5 million (€7.2 million) in in-kind value, and the number of employees
serving as pro bono consultants more than doubled to 1,063 year over year.
• In 2024, a total of 728,000 young people were enabled in SAP CSR’s education and employment
programs, with more than 534,000 receiving training (>10 hours each), of whom 46% were girls.
Next to continuously expanding our learning offerings for our own employees as well as customers and partner
eco-system, we provide solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors Learning that help businesses prepare people
for the future and address skills management, learning and development needs:
• In the educational sector, this solution has enabled The University of Toronto to drive more digital
learning by offering both online and in-class trainings. By linking the learning offerings to competencies,
individuals can clearly see how their career progresses while the university can track course
registrations and extract data to inform decision-making.
• Mexican pharmacy retail chain San Pablo Farmacia has integrated learning management with other
talent management applications as a foundation to design personal training and development plans
in line with its growth strategies and the individual needs of the entire workforce. With the introduction
of its first online learning program, the company delivered certified training to 1,800 employees without
the need to transport its people to a training location and take them away from their pharmacy stores.
