Customer Snapshot: Business Model
Tikkun Olam: A Commitment to Healing the World
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization. Since 1914, JDC has exemplified that all Jews are responsible for one another and for improving the well-being of vulnerable people around the world.
Today, JDC works in more than 70 countries and in Israel to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, create lasting connections to Jewish life, and provide immediate relief and long-term development support for victims of natural and man-made disasters.
Customer Snapshot: Success Strategy
Serving Underserved Communities Everywhere
The JDC serves a variety of populations, including the poorest Jews in the world, isolated elderly, at-risk families, and vulnerable children; Jewish communities around the globe building their future, wherever they may be; Israel’s most disadvantaged citizens, including at-risk children and youth, the elderly, immigrants, and people with disabilities and victims of natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.
JDC has been there for more than a century of urgent care and quick response for Jewish communities around the globe. Providing social services, employment initiatives, and emergency aid in over 70 countries is no easy task, but with a dedicated team and a strong mission, JDC has led the charge and touched millions of lives.
After 100+ years of service, the board of trustees challenged JDC to modernize some of their outdated business practices. To begin the transformation, they chose to implement the SuccessFactors® Employee Central solution to simplify HR processes and improve operational efficiency.
The JDC was seeking easy-to-run, easy-to-use software suited to the needs of a younger, mobile and highly connected workforce. On the back-end, they also needed the software to perform compelling analytics and reporting. The software also needed to be highly upgradable for continuous improvement and regular updates. SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was an ideal solution, and the Israeli company AKT Human Capital Solutions was an ideal partner to help bring their wish list to life.
I view SuccessFactors more as a cultural tool than a technology tool. It pushes us to think differently – to seek simplicity in all our processes – and has created a greater sense of community in the organization.— Ryan Hass, Director of Leadership, Learning and Development, American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee
