Product Data Onboarding (PDON)
The retailsolutions Product Data Onboarding (PDON) application on SAP BTP allows Retailers and their vendors to import, enhance, maintain and syndicate product data centrally in the cloud, before releasing to the S/4HANA system via a 2-step approval process.
Overview
Collaborate on product data
PDON is a cloud-based solution that facilitates the centralized onboarding of product data. It empowers data suppliers to input their product data independently through a user-friendly interface. The data can be manually entered or imported using different file formats.
Consolidate product data from different sources
PDON can be easily integrated to external data sources such as Data pools so that retailers can import 3rd party product data into their own product database. Based on an event driven architecture, PDON keeps the cloud data base and the S/4HANA product data base in sync.
Streamlining Data Maintenance
Thanks to its template feature, PDON reduces data maintenance efforts to a minimum. It automatically finds and copies attributes from similar products.

Product-App
In the product application, product data can be entered manually or imported from different data sources. Data maintenance can be automated through reference handling, effectively minimizing manual maintenance tasks.
Customize Product Data Structure
The data model of the product data can be customized via the field catalogue app. Here, for example, mandatory fields can be defined or it can be determined which fields are allowed to be changed during a repeated data import.
Mapping-App
The mapping-app provides a framework for defining simple mapping rules, for example for importing CSV-files. Without programming knowledge, mapping templates for different formats can be created easily and quickly.
