Customer Snapshot: Success Strategy

Made Locally, Shipped Globally

All of Rifle Paper Co. paper products are printed in the USA and assembled by hand in their studio to ensure every product is inspected before packaging and shipping. They use FSC-certified paper stocks with recycled content, environmentally responsible printers, and select high quality materials that allow for products that are both well-made and beautiful. Everything they create is thought through, tested and inspected to ensure that they end up with a collection of products that they would not only use themselves but are incredibly proud to share.

Rifle Paper Co.’s roots are in stationery but as they continue to grow they look forward to developing more and more products under the Rifle Paper Co. aesthetic such as wallpaper, apparel, and home products. They recently partnered with French author and illustrator Garance Doré to creative direct and produce her first stationery collection and Rifle Paper Co.’s first brand collaboration.

The Challenge

Connecting the Dots to Streamline a Business

Growing from a small collection of 50 products to a full-blown catalog with global distribution comes with a lot of data baggage. When the catalog, inventory, manufacturing and shipping systems are all disconnected, that could lead to inefficiencies and delays. Rifle Paper Co. realized that a connected system would not only streamline processes, it would also help them plan for seasonal fluctuations.

Enter SAP

On Paper and in Practice, SAP Comes out on Top

The company knew the system they selected had to be able to change as they continued to grow. The system also needed to be business-specific to enable them to manage financials, inventory, customer and supplier accounts, planning and production requirements, and purchasing. The solution needed to be easy-to-implement, easily scalable and have a more intuitive interface than systems like NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, and Epicor.

Enter SAP: The SAP Experience

Pre-Deployment Staging Ensured a Smooth Rollout

A staged implementation ensured a smooth rollout once the SAP Business One® application was ready to be deployed. Centralized data access now streamlines processes from planning and production to orders and shipping, freeing up time, reducing lag time and ensuring accuracy.

Better Business: Run Simple

Cutting Through the Data Clutter To Keep Business Personal

Coordinating all processes through a single application with a user-friendly interface ensures every stakeholder has a line on the entire process from initial order through fulfillment. From individuals buying gifts or crafting special invitations to partnerships with companies and artists, Rifle Paper’s data flow can now Run Simple, helping the company make sure each product always conveys a personal touch.

Journey Ahead

More Features to Help Plan for the Future

Moving forward, Rifle Paper hopes to deploy a dashboard to provide managers with business performance data at their fingertips. This will ensure the company always has just the right merchandise available to help their customers add a personal touch to everything they do.
