The Challenge
Helping customers make the switch to cleaner, greener energy
Eneco Holding N.V. is active in the energy sector and one of the biggest investors in sustainable energy. To challenge the rapid process change in the utilities industry, Eneco needed to deploy intuitive, cutting-edge business and IT solutions in the cloud.
By introducing a cloud-first strategy for the company, Eneco looked to start with a scalable cloud platform that could support cloud-to-cloud integration as well as hybrid deployment models.
The Solution
Taking a cloud-first integration approach
To kick off this strategy, Eneco chose SAP Integration Suite, which is part of SAP Business Technology Platform.
Working with SAP partner Acorel, it used the Cloud Integration capability within SAP Integration Suite to implement a design-to-operate process in a matter of weeks. Plus, the suite offers standard integration content with automated release update cycles, minimizing up-front investment and eliminating hardware installation costs.
Now, with plans to explore integration governance in the future, Eneco can leverage SAP Integration Solution Advisory Methodology.
The Result
Speeding innovation and lowering TCO
With the Cloud Integration capability in SAP Integration Suite, Eneco now has the flexibility to integrate between SAP and third-party systems. Automatic monthly upgrades to the cloud infrastructure eliminate the need to invest in technical monitoring and upgrades.
The result is that Eneco has been able to cut IT spending for integration middleware to between 50% and 60% of annual total cost of ownership (TCO).
Plus, the solution is so much simpler to use that IT teams can keep the focus on driving innovation.
