FRoSTA: Boosting employee
engagement with mobile access to
core enterprise resources
Known for frozen fish, vegetables, and meals in Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, and
Eastern Europe, FRoSTA AG is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of frozen foods and
the market leader for frozen meals in Germany. Committed to finding the right products
and ingredients to keep its customers happy while respecting the environment, the
company sets itself apart by promoting its “Purity Promise.” This concept shows
consumers that FRoSTA does not use additives in any of its products.
At a time when mobile connectivity to the company’s core systems and services is more
important than ever, FRoSTA wanted to speed employee access to enterprise resources
on the go. The company’s vision was to enhance employee engagement by creating one
central entry point to access company resources, allowing mobile users to do everything
from triggering maintenance requests to approving purchase requisitions in real time. Picture credit | FRoSTA AG, Bremerhaven, Germany. Used with permission.

Mobile entry point
across its business
landscape
FRoSTA AG now supports its mobile users with a single, unified entry point to access
standard and customized applications, as well as third-party solutions, through
SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Users can securely access relevant apps
from their mobile devices, while users involved in core approval workflows receive
workflow notifications and can approve tasks on the go. In the background, FRoSTA’s
use of the SAP Task Center service unifies access to tasks and approvals, allowing the
management of approvals across both SAP Build Work Zone and the Joule Work mobile
app (formerly the SAP Mobile Start app).
As part of FRoSTA’s clean core initiative, unused custom code is being deactivated,
whereas required customizations will be migrated to SAP BTP and made accessible
through the Joule Work mobile app. Integrations with core solutions from SAP for
procurement, HR, and manufacturing planning accuracy support operational excellence.
Elsewhere, with the Joule solution integrated into the Joule Work mobile app, users can
benefit from contextual assistance that further enhances efficiency and decision-making.
In terms of future plans, FRoSTA is investigating use cases involving wearables to support
business processes and further improve the accessibility of services.
