T&G Global, formerly Turners and Growers, operates in 13 countries with a team of 1,800 people and alongside over 700 independent growers. They grow, market, sell, and distribute a range of
fresh produce to consumers in more than 55 countries. As a leading agribusiness, T&G leverages efficient digital platforms to support their growers, sales teams, and supply chain partners across
a global network. T&G had implemented SAP S/4HANA, but faced significant disruption following natural disasters that impacted both operations and budgets.
Why This Project is a Best Tech Contender:
T&G Global’s project demonstrates how innovation doesn’t always require reimplementation. Leveraging SAP BTP, DalRae helped T&G rapidly modernise and streamline core processes—cost-
effectively and collaboratively—at a time when external disruptions had left key operations reliant on manual, fragmented workflows.
The Grower Portal replacement was a standout transformation. By retiring an unsupported legacy platform and replacing it with a scalable, cloud-native alternative, T&G improved grower
engagement, lowered operational risk, and delivered immediate value to users. The platform is mobile-enabled, secure, and extensible, built with reusable BTP components and designed to
scale across the business.
This project is a benchmark for how agribusinesses can navigate disruption, retain value from existing SAP investments, and set a new standard for supplier collaboration and transparency.

Industry Disruptor
Challenges
T&G was at a critical juncture. Despite investing in SAP S/4HANA, the organisation found themselves unable to realise the full benefit of the platform
due to external crises—flooding and crop devastation—that triggered budget freezes and operational disruption. Key business functions such as sales
order capture, claims processing, and grower engagement were bogged down by manual processes, fragmented data access, and unc lear ownership.
Sales teams faced inconsistent workflows across business units, resulting in lost productivity, errors in pricing and claims, and slower customer
response times.
T&G’s grower engagement model was outmoded, relying on phone and email for transactional follow -ups. This strained relationships and reduced
transparency. With no appetite for a complete SAP reimplementation, the challenge was clear; unlock rapid, high-impact innovation from existing
investments.
The existing grower portal was built on an outdated, unsupported technology stack. This legacy platform was costly and diffic ult to maintain, with
limited ability to implement updates. Its non-mobile-enabled design restricted usability, resulting in lower-than-expected grower portal adoption.
These limitations hindered growers’ ability to make timely and informed decisions, affecting operational efficiency and suppl ier satisfaction. It was
also a security risk staying on the legacy NetWeaver technology.

Solution
DalRae’s approach started with a Rate of Innovation (ROI) Review, using a structured discovery framework to align IT capabilities with real
business pain points. This led to a strategic decision: instead of a system-wide overhaul, invest in modernising the most critical business
processes using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
This began with a Claims and Mobile Sales Application, but the Grower Portal replacement was the biggest transformation. The legacy platform
was retired in favour of a modern, cloud-based infrastructure that disrupted outdated processes and removed long-standing technical debt. The
new solution provides a responsive, user-friendly interface accessible via desktop and mobile devices. It simplifies critical functions such as
purchase requisition and purchase order entry through streamlined screens that integrate SAP standard and custom functionalities. This
modern, scalable platform is designed to enhance usability, increase adoption, and lay the foundation for future digital expansion—enabling
faster innovation and stronger supplier collaboration.

Impact
Retiring NetWeaver Portal reduces
business risk and technical debt by
removing a vulnerable legacy system
The platform provides growers with
instant access, on any device, to their
product catalogue, consignments, prices,
invoices and statements without having
to contact T&G staff.
Lifting grower consignment entries from
20% to 50% unlocks a 10% gain in supply
chain efficiency
The transformation has delivered a significantly enhanced user experience, driving higher levels of grower satisfaction and e ngagement. Through mobile
enablement and simplified, intuitive processes, growers are now empowered to manage their own data directly, reducing reliance on internal T&G
resources.
Early feedback indicates increased portal usage and strong positive sentiment from users, demonstrating the platform’s immediate value. In addition to
improving the grower experience, the solution has lowered operational risks and maintenance costs, while providing T&G with a scalable and flexible
digital foundation to support future service evolution and strengthen supplier relationships.
The platform’s architecture, built with reusable SAP BTP services, has proven so effective that it is now being considered for deployment in other areas of
the business, extending its impact across the organisation.
