Tait Communications is a global, growth-focused business challenged by legacy ERP systems that could no longer support its expanding international
operations. To enable rapid growth, including regional expansion through acquisitions, Tait implemented SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud — replacing
fragmented legacy systems with a unified, cloud-native platform spanning 17 legal entities in 13 countries, all completed within 11 months. Choosing an
evergreen, globally compliant ERP solution was critical to enabling Tait’s strategic growth ambitions and operational agility.
This transformation was not just about modernising IT, but about enabling speed, scale, and confidence in decision-making across sales, finance, supply
chain, manufacturing, and service. With daily MRP runs, automated financial consolidation, and real-time reporting, Tait built a resilient and agile backbone
to support long-term growth. The strategic use of SAP ERP delivered the clarity and operational agility needed to grow globally, while ensuring compliance
and efficiency.
This project demonstrates how a mid-sized, complex enterprise can rapidly scale by investing in their digital toolkit, using SAP ERP as a true enabler of
sustainable growth.

Challenges
Tait Communications faced a growth-limiting dilemma: its legacy systems, including an underutilized SAP S/4HANA
1511 instance and Baan for manufacturing could not support its increasingly complex global operations and overall
aspirations of growth as required by the Board and the Executives.
The business was expanding through acquisitions and international growth but lacked a unified platform to scale
efficiently.
Key challenges included:
• Disjointed processes across finance, inventory, sales, and service.
• Manual reconciliations between Baan, MES, and finance systems.
• Siloed functions and inconsistent data limited real-time visibility and slowed decision-making.
• Stakeholders lacked trust in reporting, impacting planning, agility, and customer responsiveness.
• Lack of confidence in data and ability to derive decisions from data.
These pain points created operational inefficiencies and risk, forcing Tait to rethink its ERP architecture. The
company needed a scalable, standardised solution that could support global expansion while improving
compliance and resilience.

on a per user basis
Vast collaboration opportunity across the community
Secure platform to develop and automate
First class extensibility and ability to be built on repeatably
Stable platform
SAP is still evolving and having core functionality developed by SAP
100's of disparate Baan reports and applications that are required to operate have been
migrated into a common code base with a web UI using standard SAP APIs
Reduced support of some legacy apps, processes and reports
Reduced risk of legacy applications, services and reports failing due to unsupported
connections, libraries and drivers
SAP has the ability to create product classifications which are excellent for identifying
products in the item master as we have many complex needs to identify features,
approval, testing, labelling at the product level.
Tait has more than 80 of these now from identifying IS product and materials to defining
test methods
