purchasing info records for each plant. It was a labor-intensive process that had to be handled with accuracy to
ensure financial consistency across the board.
The situation was further complicated by the onset of the COVID pandemic, which caused severe fluctuations in
the construction industry – a primary market for Viridian. The pandemic accelerated inflation in building
construction materials, requiring frequent updates to purchasing data.
Updates to master data had previously been completed on an annual basis, but the company now needed to
undertake these comprehensive updates every three to six months, involving up to 6,000 records at a time. The
demand for rapid data updates highlighted the critical need for a more efficient and automated system, ultimately
leading to the implementation of SAP S/4HANA.
