SAP NOW AI Tour: Data+AI+Platform: Realising the Promise: Data, GenAI and the SAP Platform with Capgemini
The session on Realising the Promise: Data, GenAI and the SAP Platform featured Jason D’Costa (Global SAP CoE, Capgemini AUNZ), Travis Smith (SAP Domain Architect, SA Power Network), and Johannes Lubbe (Director & Head of Presales, APJ, Syniti, part of Capgemini). The panel explored how organisations can move beyond fragmented AI solutions and embrace a holistic approach to AI adoption that maximises business value, ensures responsible use, and fosters stronger collaboration between humans and technology.Speakers emphasised that managing AI in isolation through “best-of-breed” tools can create silos and inflate costs, while a holistic AI strategy enables scalability, consistent governance, and alignment with business outcomes. Central to this discussion was Capgemini’s AI Resonance Framework, which provides practical guidance for structuring enterprise AI adoption across three layers. The Essentials layer highlights the importance of ensuring technology and data work seamlessly together, forming the foundation for trusted and scalable AI. The Guardrails layer underscores the need to embed governance, compliance, and ethical safeguards, protecting against risks such as flawed AI-generated code and ensuring AI is used responsibly. Finally, the Human-AI Chemistry layer focuses on fostering productive collaboration between people and AI systems, highlighting how the true promise of AI lies in complementing human creativity and decision-making rather than replacing it.The session concluded with a call to action for businesses to treat AI not as a collection of disconnected tools but as a strategic capability built on integrated platforms like SAP, where data, governance, and human collaboration drive sustainable outcomes.
