The mission of SAP Customer Experience Labs is to help organizations become more agile and deliver solutions quickly into the market. We also help enterprises learn how to recognize where fast failures and iterative learning provide value. Experts at SAP Customer Experience Labs thoroughly investigate new and emerging technologies, such as connected retail, machine learning, and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Our organization that was once called SAP Hybris is now called SAP Customer Experience. And this is exactly how I would describe our success: creating a fantastic customer experience. Looking back on it all, to be honest, the best moment in my career was when we made the decision to say “yes” to the acquisition offer from SAP. When we said “yes”, we said “yes” to the future that we are able to form now. SAP is a fantastic place to work. We combine steadiness and stability with true innovation. SAP is infinite. The possibilities are huge and there is always more.
I still remember when I just stepped out of school, hearing new technical names like cloud computing, microservices, container orchestrations, docker, spark, etc., and I felt excited. Now all of these buzzwords are happening in SAP. We are soaring into the cloud, bracing open sources, and containing mainstream technologies. We are partnering with other giants in the tech world. No one can deny that SAP is innovative. I’m inspired by our team t-shirts that say: “Build Things That Matter!” I believe we will make it happen!

In my current role, I focus on strategic topics and innovation, especially in the area of applying modern cloud-native approaches like microservices or serverless to complement and modernize our solution portfolio within SAP Customer Experience solutions. I am a topic guy – that’s why I’m an expert, not a manager. For me, success is to learn and to bring new thinking into SAP. It is very satisfying to see if concepts you are developing make it into the product.

A presales specialist identifies, understands, and defines customer needs in order to develop and maintain standard product demonstrations and materials to close business and increase revenue. Presales specialists bring a specialized expertise on a given solution (SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Customer Data Cloud) in the market unit they support and are key members of the virtual account team.
An account executive creates a complete territory business plan for a given account list in order to identify or qualify opportunities to generate pipeline, and develop and drive strategy that will result in achieving or over-achieving yearly quota targets. Account executives are responsible for positioning the entire SAP Customer Experience portfolio (SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Customer Data Cloud) to prospective customers as they collaborate with other members of the virtual account team within the market unit representing SAP’s full offering of solutions.
A regional industry advisor is an industry and product expert that collaborates closely with the market unit sales leadership developing new business tools and selling strategies for SAP Customer Experience in specific industries such as consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, utilities, and so on. A regional industry advisor will engage with key business stakeholders during pre- and post-sales cycles, and brings specialized knowledge and experience of a particular industry as well as one or more of our specific product areas within SAP Customer Experience (SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Customer Data Cloud).
A customer engagement executive serves as the primary point of contact for customers who have purchased some or all of SAP Customer Experience (SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Customer Data Cloud). A customer engagement executive has responsibility for management of assigned customer accounts and aids in the execution of their customer experience strategy. The focus of this position is to maximize the value that customers and SAP receive through adoption and use of the customer experience subscription software. Success is measured by retention and growth of subscription revenue.
A business development specialist generates additional pipeline within a market unit specific to the SAP Customer Experience (SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Customer Data Cloud). The business development specialist closely aligns with field accounts executives, marketing, and inside sales to conduct targeted campaigns through phone calls or email outreach to generate and qualify sales leads. Success is measured by quantity and quality of sales leads that translate into actual sales.
