Find out about our products and solutions that make the world run better and improve people’s lives. We will talk about sports analytics, business process intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, sustainable business plans and coding, and much more.

SAP’s story started with a bold idea from five young men back in 1972. Almost 50 years later, the enterprise software provider is Germany’s most valuable DAX company whose customers generate 87% of total global commerce.

Its purpose “to make the world run better and improve peoples’ lives” is more relevant today than ever, with SAP making a significant contribution to global efforts to fight climate change, end the COVID-19 pandemic, and find new ways to work and live together for a brighter, safer, and fairer future.

Join Sebastian Steinhäuser, SAP’s Chief Strategy Officer, to learn more about how SAP is reinventing the world to run as a network of intelligent, sustainable enterprises.

Can technology repair the (climate) mess we have made?

As a champion in enterprise software, it is SAP’s responsibility to enable businesses to cut emissions without cutting productivity. But what’s the best recipe to solve the global climate challenge? No business has the answer or can solve it on their own. Instead, companies need to collaborate across value chains, build alliances and work closely together with other industry players, politics, and academia.

In this session, Christian will share some real-world examples that show why collaboration is one ingredient no business can master sustainability without!

Christian Boos
Head of SAP NVT Sustainability Engagement
Speaker

As Head of NVT Sustainability Engagement at SAP, Christian Boos and his team support companies in developing sustainable business models in close collaboration with customers, academia, and governments.

In his role as Head of SAP Machine Learning Business Development in the SAP Innovation Centre Network, he helped to adapt machine learning capabilities to business processes. He was also responsible for SAP’s Supply Chain professional services business and incubated next generation logistics and supply chain planning solutions.

Artificial Intelligence aims to simulate human intelligence on the one hand, and on the other hand to even extend human perception and cognition.

The big progress in big data and machine learning – in particular deep learning and computing in recent years – have led to the successful application of AI in different areas: e.g. retail, e-commerce, search platforms, game, and consumer electronics. AI is now part of our everyday life already: e.g. voice assistants. AI can make products and services more intelligent, help enterprises be more efficient, competitive, and resilient via automation, optimization, and forecasting. However, AI will change our lives, our society, and our future because of its powerful technologies. Thus, responsible AI and trustworthy AI play an important role for developing and applying AI technologies.

Have you ever asked yourself what different processes need to work hand-in-hand in a company so that they can create a product or offer a service?

Customer demands for product and services are quickly changing. Every company and organization runs many processes every day. Combining and keeping them up to date with our demands is not easy. To know what’s going on in a company is the first step to improve. New processes can be designed and simulated before they are rolled-out and monitored continuously. In an ever faster changing world companies need to be flexible and fast.

Continuous learning is vital to stay relevant in our increasingly complex world. The future of work will be shaped by you, SAP’s future early talents.

“Learning is the New Work” means that we need to understand and adopt core human skills and a growth mindset for continuous development, where our learning happens naturally, through our day-to-day work, whilst practicing, exchanging, and collaborating with others.

These new ways of working create lots of freedom and new possibilities and require inner clarity about where you want to grow. But, especially in the early times of your career journey, too many opportunities can be overwhelming and even lead to decision-making anxiety.

The good thing is that you do not need to figure this out on your own! Instead, SAP employees who act as Coaches, Mentors, Role Models or contribute to Communities of Practices guide you on your growth journey.

The interactive & fun session will highlight three new ways of learning in the flow of work at SAP:

  • Learning with peers: The Coaching Community & Working Out Loud Story
  • Learning from experiments: The Fellowship & Innovator Challenge Story
  • Learning to learn: The New Work & Career Growth Story

And yes, each of you will create and share one meme as a summary of the session that guides you on your growth journey.

You’ll learn new ways to learn, how you, as Early Talents, can benefit from Peer & Experiential Learning, connect with at least four participants, and trust your intuition.

Franziska Weis
Peer & Experiential Learning Practices Lead
Speaker

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing”- this quote by Albert Einstein is part of Franziska’s DNA. She is convinced that one can never ask too many questions. By asking questions, you challenge existing processes, generate new ideas, find new impulses, constantly develop yourself further and reflect your and others’ actions.

Franziska is a New Work enthusiast and passionate SAP Coach. That’s why she is leading SAP’s Peer & Experiential Learning Practices, such as coaching, mentoring, job shadowing / rotations as well as Communities of Practice with both her head and her heart to support others unleashing their full potential through growth that matter to them.

Felix Harling

Speaker

Felix‘ purpose is to co-create solutions to ensure that the next generation lives better than us.

A father of two students, curious by nature, and a continuous learner – Felix has joined the Peer & Experiential Learning team as a fellow after his sabbatical. Previously he led the team responsible for the learning offerings for 30,000+ developers and engineers at SAP. He is a Design Thinking coach and a Peer Learning enthusiast. Felix co-initiated the Future Learning Lab at SAP.

He shares insights on LinkedIn and on his blog.

“The best things, the smart things are the things that make us smart…Systems that make us smarter is what I see fully established five to 10 years from now. I call it the Humachine — a symbiosis between machine intelligence and human creativity.”

The World Economic Forum predicts complex problem solving, critical thinking and creativity as the top skills for the future workforce. Instead of spending our time with things we are good at but not excellent, like repetitive tasks, administration, mundane labor, we may hand them over to machines and focus on tasks that require creativity and strategic thinking.

This line of thought touches on fundamental questions, such as what it is that makes us human. In a way, the whole history of the homo sapiens so far was about hunting and gathering and later about filing tax reports. But are these appropriate tasks for beings that can also compose music, think up strategies or solve moral problems? Signing on machines for the mundane things may set free our time and energy for what really matters.

Be prepared for a wild roller-coaster ride in Martin’s session!

Classroom, internet, communities, social media – learn about the tools and methods for learning that SAP is already using and the ones that are just around the corner.

In school or at university, learning usually follows a predefined, often years-old plan. But life and reality move faster and the way the world, companies, and organizations run today will be very different tomorrow.

Tech companies like SAP are contributing to traditional learning by offering additional learning resources around digital science, technology and the overall skills of the 21st century.

Find out in this session with Katharina what is already available and what we have in store for you soon. Discuss with Katharina your ideas about how you want to learn now and in the future.

The tech industry has one of the lowest numbers of female experts. Considering that this industry is one of the places where the future is written and being made, it seems illogical that half of the world’s population is not equally represented here.

SAP Women in Tech is an initiative that was founded to provide more visibility to the female experts in the company but is also contributing to a future where it is completely normal for women to work in the tech industry/at SAP.

We know that figuring out your career can be quite challenging. Especially because matching your degree/knowledge with available jobs is not as straight forward as some might think. This session is supposed to provide an insight into the SAP Women in Tech initiative but also explain why an IT degree is not the only way to work in the tech industry.

After graduating she took a career turn and moved into the tech industry when she joined SAP as part of the central product management team for SAP Cloud Platform.

Her wish is to make sure that in 10 years from now a female career in the tech industry is the new normal.
