for SAP ERP is the next evolution in release management strategies, which enables
customers to continuously consume SAP innovations without disruption to their ongoing
business operations.
SAP delivers innovations through enhancement packages approximately every 9-12 months. Customers no longer have to plan for major releases every 5 years. They can now choose to selectively implement the business functions or technical improvements that add the value that matters most to their business. SAP uses enhancement packages to quickly and easily deliver business and industry-specific functionality, enterprise service bundles, and other functions that help improve and simplify the use of SAP ERP through user interface and other end-to-end process improvements. This rapid, non-intrusive deployment of selected improvements allows all customers to innovate the way they want to, according to their own timetable.
Customers can activate enhancement packages via the SAP NetWeaver platform, which helps isolate impacted objects and minimizes testing requirements. Since enhancement packages do not include any modifications, customers benefit from superior solution fit without risking any side effects to other parts of their systems.
