d) 0 Use complex mapping rules and end routines in transformations to perform the consolidation when extracting the financial master data

4. Your customer is seeking better performance on the query filter selection screens for the InfoObject 0CUSTOMER. The customer has also asked for the user to only be allowed to select customers who have transaction data in the InfoProvider being used by the query. What is an easy option to consider in fixing both problems?

Please choose the correct answer.

a) 0 For InfoObject 0CUSTOMER, set the Query Execution Filter Value Selection parameter to "Values in InfoProvider".
b) 0 For InfoObject 0CUSTOMER, set the Query Definition Filter Value Selection parameter to "Values in InfoProvider".
c) 0 Create a separate index on 0CUSTOMER in the InfoProvider and reference the index in the filter screen.
d) 0 Build an aggregate on 0CUSTOMER for this InfoProvider and reference the aggregate in the filter screen.

5. Your customer needs to load massive volumes of transactional data daily into a write-optimized DataStore Object. You have analyzed the source of the data and determined that it will always contain unique records based on the document number. For this reason, there will be no need to use delta loads of the data.

In order to capture any duplicate document numbers that were accidentally loaded, but still allow the data to be reported, how would you configure the write-optimized DataStore Object?

Note: There are 2 correct answers to this question.

a) 0 Only use the technical key of the write-optimized DataStore Object

a) 0 Staging BAPI DataSources support Real-time Data Acquisition (RDA) regardless of the third-party ETL tool used
b) 0 UD Connect DataSources in BI allow data staging for both physical and virtual InfoProviders
c) 0 Technical field names of tables and views extracted using DB Connect cannot be longer than 24 characters
d) 0 The process type "Delete Overlapping Requests from InfoCube" within a process chain enables "Pseudo Delta" loads from flat file DataSources

7. You need to update a record in a standard DataStore Object but the corresponding record no longer exists in the source system. What is the best approach to solve this problem, assuming that directly updating the DataStore Object table is not an option?

Note: There are 2 correct answers to this question.

a) 0 Create a new DTP and transformation and then reconstruct the request with the new record
b) 0 Reconstruct the DataStore Object from the Data Warehouse layer of the EDW
c) 0 If the PSA still has the original record, change the record manually in the PSA and then reload the request
d) 0 Use Open Hub to export the record from the DataStore Object, change the record then reload the changed record

8. You need to supply attribute data for a characteristic from two source systems. Some attributes are supplied by one source system; the remainder comes from the other source system with no duplication of attributes between the systems. You have already created all the necessary InfoObjects in your BI system and verified that the keys to the characteristic data in both systems are the same. Which additional design options are necessary?

Note: There are 2 correct answers to this question.

a) 0 Create a separate DataSource for each source system, then connect each DataSource to the characteristic attribute table with a transformation
b) 0 Create two separate InfoObjects for the characteristic, each with the set of attributes supplied by the two separate source systems. Populate the attribute tables of both the InfoObjects, then use the DataMart Interface to consolidate the two sets of data into the original characteristic InfoObject
c) 0 Use the feature "Insert Characteristic as InfoProvider" and use transformations for both source systems containing all attributes of the characteristic
d) 0 Use two Data Transfer Processes to load the data.

9. You are investigating performance problems with a query created on a MultiProvider. The MultiProvider consists of 6 InfoCubes, 3 for planning and 3 for actual data. All InfoCubes are logically partitioned by fiscal year and contain data for the past 5 years including the current year. Your research using transaction RSRT shows that, although the query is only requesting current year actual data, all 6 InfoCubes are being read during query execution.

Which performance changes can be implemented without aggregates or data structure changes?

Note: There are 2 correct answers to this question.

a) 0 In table RRKMULTIPROVHINT, enter the 0FISCYEAR and 0VAL_TYPE characteristics for each of the 6 InfoCubes

Expert Guidance

In preparing for this exam, it is important to remember that the exam covers a broad range of topics, and therefore it is not possible to ask many questions on any one topic. Certain topics, such as the BI Administration / Monitoring and ETL: Data Flow receives more emphasis than topics such as Data Quality or the NetWeaver Platform. Also, be advised that although this exam is focused on data warehousing, you will be asked questions regarding queries, reporting and analysis as it relates to the OLAP engine and query performance tuning. You should use the percentage guides from the Exam Competency Areas section above to guide the allocation of your preparation time.

As shown in the sample exam questions, a good understanding of various business scenarios is helpful when choosing the best answer from a list of possible approaches. For these types of questions where multiple answers are correct, it may be helpful to use a selection/elimination strategy. You can possibly eliminate answers that are factually wrong, while selecting answers that are clearly correct. This leaves fewer answers where you might not be sure, thus speeding up the selection process.

For questions that are based on product functionality rather than a business scenario, the answers are usually found in the course material listed for that area in the Exam Competency Areas section above. While several answers may be very similar in their wording, take sufficient time to clearly understand the meaning of each answer rather than rushing. That will help in distinguishing which answer(s) is/are correct. Functionality questions are normally about the primary functions of the software, not obscure or secondary features and options. BI administration / monitoring and performance tuning are both areas where practical knowledge will be especially helpful. Some of the questions in these areas are not discussed directly in the training material and require an understanding of relevant transaction codes, tables and processes. The resources listed below can also be useful in learning the more technical aspects of BI administration and performance tuning. For example, you can expect questions about settings made in specific tables that influence the performance of data loads, query execution or other performance-related areas.

Data modeling and EDW design are also important areas of the exam where experience and additional knowledge will make it easier to score well. Several of the questions in this area are in the format of a business scenario where you must judge between several plausible options. There are no 'trick' questions or answers, but you should think through the choices to make sure you understand the exact meaning and impact of each option before making your choices.

The majority of the questions in this exam are multiple choice questions. Some of these require you to select the single correct option whilst others are multiple response questions. In the multiple response questions, be sure to note the advice in the question stem on the number of correct responses. You must choose the number of options indicated as there is no partial scoring and multiple response questions are scored as either correct or incorrect. There may also be a small number of Fill-in-the Blank items. These questions are not designed to test your language skills so there is normally a range of possible options, for example with or without capitalization, etc.
