Accessibility allows everyone, including those with disabilities, to use and make the most of technology and information products. And creating accessible solutions is a top priority for SAP.
The SAP NetWeaver platform provides the foundation of all SAP business solutions. That's why this open integration and application platform is crucial to the overall accessibility of SAP products.
SAP has developed an internal accessibility compliance plan to enable individuals with disabilities to use SAP NetWeaver and other SAP solutions. As part of this plan, we have established the Accessibility Competence Center to:
To uphold accessibility of the SAP NetWeaver platform and the SAP Business Suite family of adaptive solutions, SAP created the SAP Accessibility Standard. This software and Web-application standard is based on applicable Section 508 requirements, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0) Priority 1 check points, and WCAG 2.0 level AA success criteria. New development at SAP adheres to this standard, which has been integrated into SAP's product innovation life cycle. New drafts and updates of standards supported by SAP are being phased into the SAP Accessibility Standard as they mature. The timing of deploying standard updates into shipping products varies depending on product life cycle, technology dependencies, and other considerations.
SAP strives to fulfill the ever-changing requirements of business professionals and global accessibility standards. While not all products can feasibly achieve optimal accessibility, SAP endeavors to improve accessibility and has produced substantial achievements over the years. Please visit the SAP Design Guild Accessibility Resource for more information about our recent developments.
