SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise software includes the following features and functions:

- BI widgets – Delivers at-a-glance business intelligence to a desktop in the form of widgets; Using the software's simple drag-and-drop interface, you can organise, customise and access BI content that matters to you - right from your desktop.
- Central management console – Provides an intuitive and comprehensive interface to manage, control and configure an entire BI deployment; With integrated support for security entitlement databases and granular, object-level security access control, the console gives administrators tools to deploy virtually any BI project.
- Encyclopaedia – Delivers improved user insight by providing informative BI reference guides for your organisation's information; Accessible from within your BI portal, Encyclopaedia helps end users to locate and interpret corporate information for more confident and accurate decision making. (Note: This feature is available only with SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Premium.)
- InfoView – Collects and consolidates your company's BI information and presents it in a secure, personalised view through a BI portal for users inside and outside an organisation; You can personalise how you view, manage and distribute BI content. As a standalone BI portal, InfoView can easily integrate with popular enterprise information portals.
- Java portal integration kit – Integrates content directly with Java-based portals and provides business users with a personalised, single, secure view of corporate information.
- Life-cycle management – Helps organisations to manage the promotions of BI content throughout its typical life cycle – development, testing and production.
- Publishing – Distributes personalised BI content to a mass audience in an automated and efficient manner.
- Process tracker – Helps link BI content to your business processes for more consistent, proactive decision making; You can visually map, track and communicate a business process through a set of activities and their associated reports and analytics. (Note: This feature is available only available with BusinessObjects Enterprise Premium.)
- Query as a Web service – Allows you to quickly create queries and publish them as Web services and allows the secure delivery of BI information to any application that can consume Web services
- Microsoft Office SharePoint portal integration kit – Integrates content directly with Microsoft Office SharePoint portals and provides business users with a personalised, single, secure view of corporate information
- Software development kits – Include native Java EE and Microsoft .NET software development kits that provide tight integration with Java and Microsoft-based platforms; SAP BusinessObjects also offers a comprehensive set of Web services that expose BI capabilities as platform-agnostic interfaces.
- Universe designer – Acts as a graphical design tool used to create the rich semantic layer (metadata) that makes SAP BusinessObjects products intuitive for non-technical users
