Bringing faculty together
The annual UKI academic forums provide an opportunity for faculty to meet and to discuss topics related to teaching, research, ERP, pedagogy, curricula, collaboration and so on. They are also useful means to interact with the SAP ecosystem as SAP partners and customers also participate – previous participants have included Unilever, Sun Microsystems, Atos Origin, Birmingham Council, Axon, Accenture, Electricity Supply Board of Ireland, the SAP UK User Group and Cap Gemini.
Topics for the UK&I forums vary but since 2004 there have been over 100 presentations delivered by faculty from all over the UK and Ireland on topics that range from
- the use of management information systems in innovative teaching,
- using an MIS for basic research,
- raising student satisfaction and employability,
- raising career prospects for faculty,
- working with partner companies to attract ESRC, EPSRC and FP7 funding
- placements and internships
- working with non-EU students
- functional topics such as business intelligence, SCM, ERP and Project Management
Previous forums have taken place at SAP’s UK HQ in Feltham, at Lancaster University School of Management, University of Surrey School of Management, Sheffield Hallam School of Computing Science, and University College, Dublin.
