New Rapid-Deployment Solution From SAP Harnesses the Power of In-Memory Computing
SAP Delivers Real-Time Insight Into SAP® ERP Application Data
SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) continues to execute on its vision to deliver a new reality for enterprise software by introducing a new solution based on the foundation of SAP® In-Memory Computing technology. The SAP® ERP rapid-deployment solution for operational reporting with SAP® In-Memory Appliance software (SAP HANA™) will provide companies with a real-time view of key insights from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE® NOW, being held in Orlando, Florida, May 15-18, 2011
“With its focus on line-of-business applications, SAP is making a unique contribution to in-memory computing,” said Henry Morris, senior vice president, Worldwide Software and Services research groups, IDC. “Companies need a way to manage, access and analyze the ever-increasing amounts of business information generated. In-memory computing allows them to rapidly access the freshest data, without having to trade data granularity for speed.”
This rapid-deployment solution, revamped with the power of in-memory computing, will provide operational analytics from SAP ERP quicker and more affordably. It will be able to deliver more than 15 individual reports in real time from SAP ERP in four key lines of business: sales, financial, shipping and procurement. Improving existing reporting capabilities, SAP, its partners and customers have identified these as data-intensive areas that require the heavy lifting provided by SAP In-Memory Computing technology to improve performance.
With the SAP ERP rapid-deployment solution for operational reporting, both large and midsize businesses can more easily take advantage of SAP In-Memory Computing. Like all SAP® Rapid Deployment solutions, the application will be focused in scope and preconfigured to eliminate guesswork, reducing deployment time to as little as six to eight weeks.
