13.15 Operations Transformation at Carlsberg UK – with Deloitte

The ever present challenge for supply chain leaders is year on year to deliver improving levels of service to an increasing mix of customers at a ever reducing cost. As upward cost pressures increase, the room for manoeuvre within existing infrastructures becomes limited. Against this backdrop the need to invest wisely in optimising processes and business applications in order to reduce costs and failure rates becomes paramount. However in a fast moving and complex supply chain the prospect of major business upheaval can be daunting. Deloitte and SAP's operational excellence initiative is designed to help answer the critical questions and shows how, by taking a focused approach, sustainable benefits can be achieved without disrupting business performance. Jim Houghton from Deloitte will relay his experience of just such an initiative at a major UK brewer and outline the key success factors which allowed the organisation to implement SAP WMS and re-engineer their outbound logistics processes without the operation missing a beat.

16.15 Global Systems and Local Problems – with LRS

More and more organisations are becoming truly global; creating one operation whose reach extends around the world, instead of having multiple, independent operations in many countries. When enterprises scale up a national infrastructure to a single unified global infrastructure, the methods that have worked adequately at the country level often prove to be unsuitable on a global basis.

For manufacturing companies, even simple tasks, such as the need to print labels and barcodes is imperative. LRS as specialists in Enterprise Output Management have helped the global producer SCA and many other companies, manage their SAP output on a global basis, providing increased efficiencies and cost savings.

In this session, LRS will explain how SCA overcame output management problems, exploring the implications and cost benefits to the business.
