Obtain Your Ph.D. with SAP Research

Candidates interested in writing a dissertation in an industrial, "real-life" research setting find ideal conditions at SAP Research. The breadth of international projects and topics offers a wide range of opportunities for a doctoral thesis. This is why SAP Research established a dedicated Ph.D. framework in close collaboration with several European universities. The expected timeframe for completing a dissertation is three years. During this period, the candidates are assigned to a challenging project within one of SAP's research programs.

  • Candidates for our technical-oriented Ph.D. should have completed an adequate area of study in:
    • Information technology
    • Computer sciences
    • Business information systems
    • Related programs of study
  • Candidates for our business-oriented Ph.D. should have completed an adequate area of study in:
    • Business administration
    • Economics
    • Business information systems
    • Industrial engineering and management
    • Related programs of study
  • Excellent English skills are a fundamental requirement, as all SAP Research projects are performed in cooperation with international partners. German skills are a plus.
