FINDING A CERTIFICATION

We developed our search tool – find a certification – to help you quickly locate information about our SAP certification examinations. By clicking on the drop-down arrows next to any of the three filters – solution, focus area, role – selecting the criteria that matches your interests, and then clicking the Find button, you can quickly identify the certification examinations that best match your professional needs and career goals.

The tool allows you to select criteria listed in one, two, or all three filters. As is typical in using any such tool, when you select criteria listed in all three filters, you will generate a narrow list of results. And when searching using fewer filters, you will generate a broader list of results.

To help you locate the certification examination that best meets your needs and goals, we have defined the search filters and the filter criteria.

  • Solution – This filter allows you to locate the certification examinations that we offer for the following:
    • SAP NetWeaver
    • Enterprise SOA
    • SAP Customer Relationship Management
    • SAP ERP
    • SAP Product Lifecycle Management
    • SAP Supply Chain Management
    • SAP Supplier Relationship Management
    • Oil & Gas
    • Retail
    • SAP Business One
    • Small and Midsize Enterprise (SME)
    • SAP Solution Manager
  • Focus area – This filter allows you to locate the certification examinations that we offer according to general areas of professional expertise.
    • Applications – This certification is offered for select SAP solutions. Before you can take this examination, you must complete either the appropriate solution academy course and case study work or the equivalent SAP standard curriculum. However, if you have significant experience in implementing an SAP solution, you can take the exam without completing the course work.
    • Development – This certification is available for individuals who develop applications for SAP solutions. Only after you complete the necessary solution academy or standard curriculum can you take this examination to become a certified developer.
    • Technology – Only after you have completed either the solution academy or SAP training classes can you take this examination. However, if you possess significant experience in working with SAP technology, you can take the exam without completing the course work.
  • Role – This filter allows you to locate the certification examinations that we offer in relation to your current or desired role.
    • Architect – SAP architects are responsible for defining and scoping all components in an SAP-based architecture. These individuals typically review the customer's requirements and suggest a range of resolutions, such as identifying the number and type of Web and database servers required, the equipment required for helping end users connect to the infrastructure, and the amount of network bandwidth needed.
    • Application consultant – Application consultants possess extensive knowledge of the functionality involved in – and the methods used for – configuring a single application. These experts advise customers on customizing their applications to accommodate their specific business requirements.
    • Developer/development consultant – Developers create code to extend and modify existing SAP functionality. These experts typically work across several functional areas and commonly work with data consultants to write the code needed to develop interfaces.
    • Technology consultant – Technology consultants provide their customers with insight on managing an IT landscape. They also serve as the link between IT administrators, developers, and application consultants. Depending on how the role is defined at the project site, these experts can perform tasks – installation, post-go live assessments – that overlap with other roles.
    • IT administrator – IT/SAP administrators manage SAP environments during implementation and after rollout. They perform such tasks as managing user accounts, copying and backing up databases, and supporting infrastructure management. These professionals also support efforts to install SAP functionality, apply updates, and upgrade existing IT landscapes into newer versions of SAP environments.
    • Industry consultant – Industry consultants possess detailed knowledge of a specific industry. They use their experience to help customers plan and implement business transformations. These professionals typically help their customers define both the business processes and the low-level system functionality requirements that their customers need to run their IT systems. Industry consultants commonly work with application consultants to define and document system blueprints.
