Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Resource Service Providers

In addition to the well established Service Partner Programme, SAP Africa and SAP Public Services have implemented a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Partner Programme. This Programme accredits organisations meeting required BEE and partner criteria with the status of a Resource Service Provider.

Black Economic Empowered (BEE) Partners have a core focus on developing SAP skills, specifically for those Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDI) employed within their organisations. These partners work alongside and collaborate with SAP and SAP's Service Partners to jointly provide services to SAP customers.

At the level of Resource Service Provider, organisations are not sufficiently qualified to prime large SAP implementations; their role is rather to provide resources onto SAP projects, usually through sub-contracting to SAP and SAP Service Partners. This process facilitates skills development and capacity building within the BEE partner base.

SAP Africa and SAP Public Services will support the skills development of employees within these organisations by providing a certain amount of standard SAP training at a reduced rate, and by running additional knowledge transfer sessions to assist in the development of skills.

In return for this level of support, these organisations make a commitment to SAP that they will not support or promote solutions that compete with SAP’s solutions or stated strategy. This level of support and focus from both parties allows for a rapid development of SAP skills within the ICT (Information, Communications, Technology) community, thus assisting in the economic transformation of South Africa.

Objective

The primary objective of this Programme is to assist in skills development and capacity building within the South African ICT community, and forms part of SAP’s larger BEE strategy. Lenient entry requirements and a high level of support from SAP, including financial support with SAP training, assist in the development and growth of these partners.

It is SAP's intention to support the development and growth of BEE Partners, enabling them to build capability and gain sufficient experience to become fully accredited Service Partners. As such, the process to be followed is outlined below.
