In Bangladesh, 87% of the population doesn’t have a bank account – but 55% have a mobile phone. Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited saw this as a huge opportunity. They created a mobile banking solution that could work with high-end and low-end devices and seamlessly handle millions of concurrent transactions. It took them 6 months to implement – and in one year, their mobile solution covered 90% of the country’s geographic area and helped the bank acquire 300,000 new customers – many of whom had never had a bank account before.* Here’s how they did it.
