Upgrade Engineer (f/m) for Upgrade Competency Centre SAP EMEA
Purpose and objective of the job

SAP has developed a global, cross functional team of expertise to support SAP's new ERP release strategy towards Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture (ESOA). The organization provides a center of expertise for the upgrade topic, drives a coherent set of upgrade-focused products, tools and services to our customers and partners, and delivers a global customer upgrade strategy and methodology designed to support and preserve our customers' investment in SAP technology, now and in the future.
The Upgrade Engineer (f/m) will provide local upgrade support, will ensure that regional customer requirements for upgrades are incorporated into global upgrade-related product and service strategies and will ultimately be responsible for providing upgrade expertise to sales, partners and customers in the upgrade selling and implementation phases.
Education and qualifications / skills and competencies
- Expertise in upgrade tools and methodologies (technical and/or business). Should have been exposed to, managed and/or performed upgrades of productive systems
- Strong pre-sales and value engineering skills
- Strong in project management
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Excellent communication & presentation skills (English)
- Able to manage or work effectively with virtual teams of high-level professionals
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with subordinates, colleagues and other involved parties
Expectations and tasks of the job
- Act as upgrade subject matter expert across whole customer and partner engagement life-cycle (e.g. project set up, quality assurance, coordination of services, project coaching)
- Support sales in positioning of the ERP upgrade topic in selected strategic accounts across the whole engagement lifecycle
- Shape specific value propositions and for selected strategic accounts
- Support/enable local alliance management in dedicated strategic partner engagements
- Support upgrade events in the region
- Support case studies or the creation of references
Work experience
- We are looking for highly-motivated, ambitious applicants with at least 5 years of experience in relevant work areas
- Know How in a specific area of SAP ERP (Financials, Logistics, HR or technology)

Travel: 20-30%
