Purpose and objective of the job

You will strengthen our regional business support function and report directly to the Regional Vice President for Field Management Support. Your challenge: Take over responsibility and independently create the ideal general conditions on the commercial and finance side of the following areas within the EMEA NEWS region: Italy, Iberia, Nordics, Central & Eastern Europe, and South-East and Middle-East.

In your daily business you will deliver general business support, key data and analyses, support transparent reporting and efficient planning and execution. You will furthermore be required to participate in strategic projects, implementing best practices and creating lean processes. The position is a combination of business and finance elements requiring strong business acumen, an understanding of all aspects of SAP’s business as well as the ability to interpret and support the financials. The role is aimed at delivering support and visibility to ensure effective execution of our strategy and achievement of targets.

This is a demanding role for a talented individual with energy and the ability to work on tight deadlines in a multi-cultural environment.

Education and qualifications / skills and competencies

• University degree (MBA advantageous)
• Fluency in English is mandatory
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to network
• Ability/willingness to work on ad-hoc tasks and under time pressure
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at once

Expectations and tasks of the job

• Facilitation of roll-in and roll-out of information between the SAP EMEA News Headquarter and the market units /countries Italy, Iberia, Nordics, Central & Eastern Europe, and South-East and Middle-East
• Monitoring the Profit & Loss statements and engaging with the countries for improvement and understanding of the business issues behind changes
• Actively supporting and engaging with the business to ensure both revenue and cost targets are met
• Pro-actively evaluate financials and pipeline information, ensuring management are aware of key risks
• Definition and tracking of action plans to mitigate risks identified within the business or financials
• Ownership of forecast numbers: understand/highlight underlying business issues
• Analysis and reporting including presentation, analysis and commentary on results
• Drive process improvements, actively ensuring management focus on the key elements and risks
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of information and the correct level of buy-in on any deviations
• Supporting pipeline reviews and effective execution
• Drive key initiatives, projects and actions given by top management ensuring countries are compliant
• Drive Market Unit call (business focused calls with MU management team) preparations and follow-ups.
• Support business reviews through early alerts, identification of key risks and areas of improvement and follow-ups
• Support the countries in ad-hoc requests by engaging with relevant regional/global teams

Work experience

• Minimum 8 years experience; areas of experience could include Controlling/CFO, and/or Software Sales and/or business management and/or Consulting (not technology) experience
• Good business understanding, preferably including:
  • Software Sales
  • Consulting
• Proven project lead roles & experience in virtual teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• High-level knowledge of US GAAP accounting regulations
• SAP system knowledge useful but not required
