SAP's global Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) network, part of the SAP Research organization, comprises a set of teams and lab facilities that drive and facilitate innovative projects between SAP and our partners, globally and in regions throughout the world.

COIL acts as an intelligent interface that brokers knowledge among SAP and our ecosystem of partners and customers to successfully drive co-innovation. This interface is strengthened by the global COIL network with lab facilities in Palo Alto, Tokyo, Bangalore, and additional expert teams located in Walldorf and Seoul – all forming an integrated, global network of capabilities and resources. Since its inception in 2007, COIL and internal and external partners have successfully pursued a variety of projects that contribute to innovative solutions worldwide. SAP Co-Innovation Lab functions through the support of sponsoring partners Cisco, F5, HP, Intel, NetApp, and VMWare.

The global COIL network focuses on these key goals:
