In 2015, we made significant progress toward our goals for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, taking advantage of the digitalization and green technology trends that are driving transformational changes across the global economy.
Environmental Performance Highlights
We monitor and report a number of environmental KPIs against ambitious targets. We aim to continue to use 100% renewable electricity to power our data centers and facilities. We aim to reduce our CO2 output to 2000 levels by 2020. You can view our financial, social, and environmental performance in interactive charts and customized results to your interests.
Despite integrating new acquisitions in 2015, our total net emissions decreased to 455 kilotons CO2 (2014: 500 kilotons). This decrease stems primarily from a reduction of business flights and compensation with carbon emission offsets.
Taking steps to recycle our waste and save water contributes to both our environmental and business performance, as we keep waste out of landfills, reduce our operational costs, and engage our employees in our efforts.
We act to ensure that we live up to high ethical standards throughout SAP. Our policies govern the conduct of our management, employees, suppliers and partners, as well as critical areas of our business such as sales, vendor selection, and payroll.
SAP has developed trustful relationships with governments worldwide by exploring the potential for information and communications technology to spur economic growth, create jobs, and address societal challenges.
