SAP Labs India Student Travel Grants
With the 'Student Travel Grants' program, SAP Labs India strives to answer a typical need long felt by Indian research students.
Annually, more than 100 PhD research students from Computer
Science or related disciplines are unable to participate in international conferences
to present their technical papers, for want of funds.
SAP Labs India launches its "Student Travel Grants" program for research students in Indian universities, who have an accepted paper to be presented at an overseas conference.
The Student Travel Grant program will cover the Travel expenses (air travel, stay and incidentals for the conference location).
Eligibility:
Full time students, pursuing research at Masters/ PhD level in Computer Science & related disciplines, at any bona fide Indian university or academic institution are eligible to apply. The following criteria must be fulfilled:
- The applicant student should be the first author of the paper (irrespective of the number of co-authors, only the first author student will be eligible for the Travel Grant).
- The technical paper should have been accepted for presentation at a conference to be held outside India.
- An itemized estimate of travel, stay & incidental costs should be furnished along with the application.
Evaluation/ Selection Process:
- An Evaluation Committee, consisting of external as well
as SAP Labs technical experts, will receive and evaluate the nominations and
select the awardees.
- Applications will be called and considered twice in a year, and the dates will be announced on the SAP Labs India website.
- The evaluation parameters used will be -- Quality of the paper & contribution, relevance of the reported research to SAP, student's resume & academic excellence.
- Decision of the Evaluation Committee will be final and binding.
