SAP Continues to Lead Software Sector in Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes

Walldorf - September 09, 2008 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that for the second consecutive year it has maintained its leadership position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) (Dow Jones Sustainability Index World and Dow Jones Stoxx Sustainability Index) for the software sector, a sub-segment of the technology super sector. SAP received highest industry ratings for Risk & Crisis Management, Innovation Management and Talent Attraction.

Since its launch in 1999, the DJSI have become the leading benchmark to track the financial performance of the top 10 percent of companies from 57 industries worldwide. The annual review of the DJSI family is based on an analysis of corporate sustainability performance, assessing criteria such as corporate governance, risk & crisis management, brand management, climate strategy, supply chain standards and labor practices. This year the weighting of industry-specific criteria was increased to 57 percent – up from 50 percent last year.

• For the software sector, DJSI reviewed a universe of 30 software companies, with SAP being the designated sector leader.
• SAP believes that the business software market can play a strategic role to address companies’ business objectives for profitable growth in a sustainable manner. This includes specific industry requirements, such as emission trading, environmental compliance, energy savings and efficiencies.
• SAP also supports the need for product safety, product compliance, and supply chain visibility, as well as risk and compliance management, reporting and greater corporate accountability.
