    • Airbus is the world's largest commercial aircraft manufacturer. We have 55,000 employees worldwide. Many of them are frequent travelers, and we are increasing that all the time. Airbus realized the need to rationalize and harmonize its travel management processes and technology. We have a couple of neat features as a result of the upgrade. First of all, we have seamless integration into our portal. So from our intranet site and single sign-on, users are able to access the travel management application, the travel expenses application in particular, which has already been prepopulated with data interface from our online booking tool. We really think that the new user interface with a step-by-step process allowing the travelers be guided through the expense management process, the prepopulation of data – this is important to get buy-in and adoption for SAP Travel Management across the Airbus population. We also have an interesting feature, which is a credit-card interface. So from our credit-card data feed, we're able to show a pop-up window in SAP, which allows the users to, in effect, drag and drop individual expense items into SAP travel expenses. Now apart from being really convenient, it also helps with the accuracy of travel expense claims, because the user doesn't have to worry about the need to perform foreign exchange-rate calculations, and doesn't have to worry about misspelling or typing errors or posting an expense item with the wrong VAT rate or anything like this. We can only go to the table with our suppliers, with the airlines, with the hotel chains, and with the car rental providers to negotiate effectively if we have good statistics on booking volumes with us. And SAP travel expenses, through the integration into the business warehouse, and the ability for managers and our procurement folks and our lead buyers to slice and dice the data to get the right information for them to go to the negotiating table is really important for us. Currently our average reimbursement cycle time, from the time in which the user submits an expense claim to the time in which he or she is reimbursed, is around 10 days. We're aiming to reduce this to around three days using SAP travel expenses, with the integration into our outsourced travel processing and VAT reclaim provider. And this is a real benefit for us. Not just for Airbus at corporate level in terms of process saving, time saving for employees, but it also is a real win-win situation for the employees themselves getting reimbursed much quicker for their travel expenses. What's really important for us in Airbus travel management is to ensure that we give good customer service to our customers – our customers are our travelers, our employees. In order to do this, we realize that travel is an emotive subject. And we want to take the emotion out of travel. We want it to be a harmonized, seamless process.
