The Challenge

Need for speed

Nissha maintains a large information technology infrastructure across multiple global sites, which made managing and analyzing data a challenge. The company wanted to accelerate data analysis, improve data accuracy and reporting, and develop faster, more informed decision making. But they were having challenges with processing speed.

Enter SAP

Integrated platform

In 2010, Nissha began implementing the SAP ERP application as their integrated information platform. Nissha’s original goal was to improve operational efficiency through the use of data. They also integrated the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse application with SAP ERP to improve the data analysis infrastructure.

When Nissha heard about SAP HANA, they
believed in-memory database technology could improve processing performance.

The SAP Experience

Ramping-up with a reality-check

Because SAP HANA was relatively new technology, Nissha enrolled in the SAP Ramp-Up program, which is designed to help evaluators of new technology realize business benefits sooner. SAP helped Nissha review their use of SAP NetWeaver BW reports and streamline the process.

Running Better

Lessening the burden on IT staff

Operational efficiency has been dramatically improved at Nissha. Many of the gains have been recognized in terms of time and reduced burdens on IT staff. SAP HANA helped cut batch processing times from 7 hours to 2 hours, a 71.4% improvement. Key reports are also generated much quicker. For instance, one report that used to take 17 minutes to run, now takes only ten seconds.

Today

Data that makes a real difference

With SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA, Nissha has been able to accelerate the processing and reporting of financial information throughout the organization. The accuracy, quality, and speed of analysis is enabling the company to test business hypotheses from multiple perspectives, thus increasing the relevance of the data Nissha collects to real-life business decisions.

Journey Ahead

Bringing all areas up to speed

The next step in Nissha’s SAP HANA implementation is expansion with supply chain management data in SAP NetWeaver BW. By adding sales, production, and procurement data, Nissha plans to expand data analysis beyond management decisions and operational analyses into all areas of its business.
