Eurovia is a leader in the road construction business. Eurovia operates in about 16 different countries. We have over 38,000 employees and outturn of over 7.2 billion euros. The way we operate our business is we have local systems, country-dependent systems, in each of our sites. And therefore, we needed to bring a way all this information back into the central system. And that's XI that is giving that to us. So XI is allowing us to interact and connect with all the original legacy systems. And that is why we chose NetWeaver. The process is, a big truck drives in,loads up with gravel aggregates, drives onto our weigh bridge, gets weighed, and drives off. And now we need to do stock movement. We need to do invoicing. And again, we have isolated system. We have 15 heterogeneous systems in all our countries to do so. And using XI, we were able to integrate all those systems back into our core information system. And we do two things. We do master data exchange through XI so that material numbers, contract information, customer information, customer exposure gets sent every day to every weigh bridge. And every time a truck drives by, we have an electronic delivery notice, which is filed up to our central instance for stock movement and invoicing. And XI was really key to integrate all those legacy systems back into one single process. It used to take about three weeks between the point in time when an expenditure would happen on-site to the point where it would actually be in the books. Our site foremen are remote workers. They were disconnected from the information system and had no access to that from their workplace. So we developed a mobile computing solution based on tablet PC. It's a .Net application. And this allows us, our foremen, to report on costs and site events and everything and to send that over the air to SAP. And we actually cut down the three weeks' delay down to about six days. And in the next 16 months, it is probably going to be cut down again to about 24 hours. Using SAP NetWeaver, we've managed to bridge the gap between back-office workers and our operational people. By using SAP NetWeaver, we were able to integrate many different legacy systems to be tightly integrated with .Net applications. We gained in efficiency, in data quality, and in speed. Today, we are actually able to close every month in about 500 different legal entities in just five days, which was probably more than twice that in the past. With SAP NetWeaver, we are able to provide information at all levels for everyone. We were able to integrate legacy applications on all sorts of technologies. We are able to connect to .Net applications, which are essential to run our business. So really that was a transformation. We gained efficiency, for instance, we are now able to close about 500 legal entities in just about five days, which used to be almost twice as much in the past. We cut down our cycles reporting by a large number of daily gains, so that is what SAP NetWeaver brought to us.
