Maastricht University Goes Live with SAP Student Lifecycle Management

July 2, 2009 – Maastricht University, located in the Netherlands, recently announced that is it using the SAP Student Lifecycle Management application, from the SAP for Higher Education & Research (SAP for HE&R) solution portfolio, to manage the entire life cycle of its students. SAP Student Lifecycle Management follows the life of a student from the time of registration to graduation, enabling students to register for online testing and education, academic advice, and application for graduation submission. Employees of Maastricht also have access to registration and tracking data.

Maastricht started the implementation at the end of 2008. The new student information system is part of the Maastricht University Student Lifecycle (MUSL) project. Other components of this project include:

  • Streamlining educational processes
  • The implementation of Syllabus Plus, the new university-wide grid program
  • A link to Studielink, the national portal for re-registrations for training institutions in higher education

"We are impressed by the dedication, commitment, and flexibility of our colleagues and students during the implementation of SAP Student Lifecycle Management," said Mark Arts, MUSL project manager at the University of Maastricht: "The number of applications will be reduced and processes will be streamlined so that services to students are significantly improved."
