SAP LABS Brazil

growth markets

In June 2006, SAP established SAP Labs Brazil in São Leopoldo, located in the south of Brazil. The first SAP development and support location dedicated to South America, SAP Labs Brazil integrates closely with the global SAP development support network.

SAP Labs Brazil is located within the technology park attached to the Unisinos University campus, one of the largest private universities in Brazil. This environment of innovation and continuous learning is conducive to creating a motivating and challenging work environment. The key advantage of SAP Labs Brazil is its proximity to South American growth markets, while operating in the U.S. time zones. English is a standard language along with Portuguese, with easy access to Spanish, German, and Italian. Customers, partners, and user groups interact closely through regular exchanges and visits at the SAP Labs or customer sites.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a key element of SAP Labs Brazil's progress. The lab team has been working closely with the local community to support members, especially young children, in improving their environment to live, learn, and grow.

In line with SAP's commitment to Brazil and to goals of reducing our global carbon footprint, the SAP Labs Brazil office building has been designed and built to U.S. green building council's code for LEED Gold new construction. The code is focused on creating a sustainable building, while minimizing the impact on the environment through energy and water efficiency and creating a positive work environment for employees. Among other sustainability benefits, the building has its own sewage treatment processing and a high degree of automation to reduce energy consumption. Through the process of ideation, employees designed their own work spaces. Design and construction of a building two blocks long enables plenty of natural light and easy communication among employees.

Over the last three years SAP Labs Brazil's business has grown an average 120% per year. This high growth rate is expected to continue in line with the growth forecast of SAP's business in South America.
