Founded in April 2006 at the campus of University St. Gallen (HSG), SAP Research St. Gallen is doing application-oriented research in the areas of smart items and service-oriented architecture (SOA). The research location unites SAP's technological know-how with the business expertise of the University St. Gallen. With more and more companies considering the IT function strategically, SAP is applying a new research approach in Switzerland that puts the business perspective and the demands of SAP clients at the core.
Research Environment – Working with World-Class Researchers
SAP Research St. Gallen is tightly integrated into the global network of SAP Research. Switzerland is no stranger to SAP's research activities. SAP is capitalizing on a long-term, fruitful cooperation with the University St. Gallen and ETH Zürich (Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule) in the M-Lab project. Within this project, SAP, together with several other industrial partners, explored ways for the implementation of the so-called "ubiquitous computing" in companies.
