Dr. Werner Brandt is a member of the Executive Board and Global Managing Board of SAP AG and is the chief financial officer (CFO), responsible for all corporate financial activities as well as administration of the company. In addition, Brandt was appointed interim chief human resources officer and labor relations director in July 2011. He joined SAP in February 2001 as CFO and member of the Executive Board.

From 1999 to 2001, Brandt was a member of the executive board and CFO of German-American healthcare company Fresenius Medical Care AG, where he also served as labor relations director. From 1992 to 1999, he was a member of the management board of Baxter Deutschland GmbH and vice president for European operations. In this capacity, he was responsible for Baxter's financial operations in Europe. Brandt began his career at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Stuttgart.

Brandt completed his doctorate in business administration at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in 1991, after studying business administration at the University of Nuremberg-Erlangen, Germany, from 1976 to 1981.

Brandt is a member of the supervisory boards of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and QIAGEN N.V., Venlo, Netherlands.
