SAP Sofia, Bulgaria Global Research and Business Incubation Sofia was established in January 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria. It’s an easy to reach destination in South East Europe with geographical and cultural proximity to the Eastern Europe emerging economies. The organization is uniquely co-located with SAP Labs Bulgaria and SAP Bulgaria, and in close relations with local development, support and field organizations. Through the years the team has delivered project results in a wide range of research areas, such as BPM and Future Internet, Technical Infrastructures, Cloud Platforms and applications.

The team in Sofia is formed of individuals with strong competencies in technologies, processes and interests in research, and with the goal to excel in efficiency. It already has a proven track of record in that for both large and small scale projects. Results like the AppDesigner, presented at SAP CTO Vishal Sikka’s keynote at SAP TechEd 2012, are quoted as an exemplary innovation, changing business for good. With this solid basis, the team is currently focused on breakthrough innovations, empowering end-users, cloud engineering, and development.

Global Research and Business Incubation Sofia has close and long lasting relationships with the local SAP development organizations in SAP Labs Bulgaria, which have core expertise in SAP NetWeaver Cloud and the traditional NetWeaver Java stack technologies, the Value Prototyping Next Generation Services, and the User Experience experts.

Our team in Sofia has been working in successful collaboration with the Field Organization at SAP Bulgaria, and will continue to leverage on the built synergy between the two organizations.

Our location in Sofia enjoys a flourishing local scientific environment and leverages on the traditionally good relationships of SAP with distinguished scientific institutions, industrial, branch and government partners in Bulgaria, such as Sofia University - the oldest university on the Balkans, the Technical University, the most distinguished ICT branch organizations BASSCOM and BAIT, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and industrial partners like Software AG, ProSyst Software GmbH, and Siemens.
