Singapore SAP Office Global Research and Business Incubation Singapore is SAP's research headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region. Located in the heart of Southeast Asia, at the nexus of East and West, Singapore is a globally connected, cosmopolitan, and culturally diverse hub for trade and commerce. The city boasts a strong network and infrastructure, sophisticated banking system, and attractive tax system, which offer appealing opportunities for trade and investment. In addition, Singapore's strong legal framework for the protection of intellectual property presents strong prospects for investing companies and entrepreneurs.

The location was established in 2011 through a collaborative partnership between SAP, the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and the National Research Foundation (NRF), and is the first corporate lab to be established at the NRF's Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Expertise (CREATE).

The Singapore location is home to the Advanced Development teams within our organization; Social Business Networks, Real Time Intelligence, and the Co-Innovation Labs (COIL). In leveraging the multi-disciplinary expertise and technology transfer activities hosted by CREATE, the research location will give impetus and momentum to catalyze technological advancements, thought leadership, and breakthrough innovation within the SAP product portfolio.

Environment – Working with World-Class Researchers and Innovators

The location in Singapore is involved in research and prototyping of upcoming products, platforms, technologies, and solutions. Core areas of interest include transportation and logistics, and urban management. In addition, there are broader arms of focus which the location is actively pursuing, such as financial services, retail and customer industries, medical and health services, security, and manufacturing.

The location has the advantage of being closely situated to world-class research universities, corporate laboratories, polytechnics, and research institutes. With the goal of co-innovating with academic and industry partners, as well as customers, our team in Singapore has established strong partnerships with local research organizations, such as A*Star and the Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific (TLIAP), and has active collaborative relationships with local universities, including Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS), which is ranked among the premier universities in Asia and the world. Our presence in Singapore will attract top-talents from the region, stimulate customer-oriented research advancements and knowledge, and harmonize technological and commercial capabilities - a powerful combination for success - and ultimately bringing lasting value to SAP’s customers.
