Environment – Working with World-Class Researchers and Innovators

The Palo Alto team consists of leading researchers addressing a broad set of IT-related research fields, including in-memory computing, next-generation technology infrastructure, and mobility and the cloud for business services and orchestration. Furthermore, the team includes the Office of the Chief Scientist involved in thought leadership activities, M&S advisory services, trend scouting, and the sponsored academic research program.

Palo Alto leads SAP's North American-Sponsored Academic Research Program to determine, influence, and investigate emerging IT trends through a close working relationship with the leading research universities in the U.S. and Canada, such as Stanford, MIT, University of California, Berkeley, HEC Montréal, and Carnegie Mellon. The program provides a structured environment for leading academic researchers to collaborate directly with SAP's global network of researchers, architects, and developers.

The Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) in Palo Alto offers next-generation facilities and infrastructure to enable co-innovation with customers and partners.

The Trillion Node Network, part of Advanced Development, determines how to plug enterprises into our rapidly-connecting world and how to prepare them to extract value from our sensored environment.
