Ireland is a European hub for many of the world's largest IT firms, including Microsoft, Google, and Intel – and SAP is a leading member of the local ecosystem. SAP's initial Irish mission was around services, support, and localization, and this was extended with the establishment of the SAP BusinessObjects Dublin Development Center (DDC).
The team in Dublin, a part of the global Global Research and Business Incubation organization since January 2011 when the SAP BusinessObjects Innovation Center joined Global Research and Business Incubation, works within the DDC. The cross-prototyping team here is looking at how exciting new technologies can bring value to SAP customers. The researchers have been involved in high-profile projects like SAP Elements and the Business Web, and have taken part in events like DemoJam.
As part of the former SAP BusinessObjects organization, the group has a particular expertise in business intelligence tools and topics and is leading the development of on-demand extract, transform, and load (ETL) for the Business Web.
Other areas of interest include next generation UI on touchable devices, enterprise semantics, in-memory analytics for performance management, and social media in the enterprise.
The location in Dublin strongly benefits from the work being done by the two other DDC teams. The Event Insight team delivers real-time business analytics using the power of events, and the Performance Optimization Applications team works on enterprise performance management tools.
Our team in Dublin is also central to SAP's ongoing interaction with local institutions and members regularly deliver guest lectures on innovation and business intelligence.
We offer various opportunities for experienced researchers, entrants, and students to work in an international, application-oriented, and collaborative research environment.
