SAP recently developed a solution known as the Enqueue Replication Service, which helps reduce the impact of system failures for users of SAP R/3. Enqueue monitors software transactions on a continuous basis, and maintains duplicate versions in an area that is separate from the normal system environment. If a failure occurs, any recent or incomplete transactions can move ahead after restart, eliminating the need to execute them again.
