Team Functions
The Small Business Solutions Development Team designs and develops SAP Business One solutions for global customers and partners. Customer requirements are collected from Asia Pacific and South America to address these focused markets. Customers are
provided with basic SAP Business One accessory products, and the partners who conduct R&D of solutions with comprehensive technical support . The production team generates documents based on R&D situation, and provides assistance to the product management of SAP Business One. The team provides 24X7 technical support to global users. A professional quality assurance team monitors the complete process of product R&D to ensure each individual R&D process is in line with ISO 9000 standards, and high-quality products are generated and rolled-out.
Achievements and Outlook
Four editions of SAP Business One (based on Windows) in several countries have been released. The fifth edition, which is in planning, will be applicable in more countries. The first edition of Linux-based SAP Business One has also been released. Based on SAP Information Exchange Infrastructure, a smart business integration solution was introduced. By the end of 2005, new-technology-based business integration platforms, tools and solutions were developed to meet the demands of different levels of business integration projects from partners and customers. By leveraging this opportunity, it will cooperate with partners to provide customers with an ecosphere of optimized business integration solutions. A range of accessory data transfer platforms have been developed, such as SAP Business One Data Takeover. By the third quarter of 2005, SBS group covered the entire R&D of accessory products within SAP Business One.
The support team successfully provided solutions and suggestions for many queries and feedbacks around the globe, and will continue to provide customers and partners with first class technical support services.
SAP Best Practices Development Team
SAP Best Practices Development Team was established in 2003, designed to provide customers with the best implementation methods and processes, as well as corresponding documents and preconfigured solutions. Key functional departments and the sectors using SAP software received fast and effective operation and application.
Methodology
SAP best practices include a clear methodology built on a gradual model; recyclable documents for self-study, evaluation; as well as preconfigurations for the training of project teams and end-users. All configurations and data can be provided to run the key processes in an out-of-the-box way. Other related information includes business process introduction, training materials, user roles, data translation tools and test catalogues. SAP best practices are built on the latest technologies that can be used quickly and easily. Furthermore, SAP best practices provide corresponding installation tools, allowing users to run a quick and simple installation.

SAP Research & Breakthrough Innovation Team is a newly formed team. It was founded in early 2005, and it is committed to the R&D of new SAP products based on the development of management software market worldwide. It consists of three sub-teams:
Development Team
Its main responsibilities include investigation and research of the whole market and all users, development of R&D recommendations, primary concept definition and initial modeling.
Content Team It cooperates with Solution Management China Team to collect and define market demands, and with other development teams to develop business contents using new methodologies to faster build enterprise solutions suitable for all countries and industries.
Solution Management China Team
This team was established in 2003 to provide services for the largest global small-to-medium-businesses (SMB) In addition to ensuring the R&D process is precise and complete, this team also applies business rules and operation practices into products, and ensures that all requests of Chinese customers are addressed. It mainly conducts project research in the following areas: supply chain management, supplier relationship management, financial management, general control data management, as well as other cross-application-domain project researches. For example, application programs for mobile phones, etc. The team works in a customer-centric manner, and conduct designs based on new market demands. By closely following the technical development trend and business practices, and combining practices with technical innovations, it helps users reduce TOC and improve their overall productivity. The Solution Management China Team drives the definition of SAP SMB solutions, the standards for SAP user interfaces, and combing the users in different regions and different cultural environments.
The Solution Management China Team plays an integral role in the new SAP service – business process platform - better availability, easier configurations and lower TOC, so that customers and partners can create higher values by leveraging the complete business processes.
SAP Applications Financials, Development Center China
History
SAP Applications Financials, Development Center China has a long history in SAP China. In 1998, it participated in the joint R&D project assigned by SAP headquarters – the strategic project to separate HR from FI/Logistics of R/3. This was the first R&D project that was assigned by Walldorf headquarters and SAP China was involved in . From 1999 to 2003, this team independently completed the R&D of five updated editions in financial sector, including Strategic Enterprise Management – Company Performance Management (SEM- CPM). At the end of 2003, a regulatory act was imposed on the financial sector – Sarbanes-Oxely Act. All companies listed in US must abide by this act. As a result of this new regulation, a new solution called Management of Internal Controls (MIC) was added within 9 months and successfully delivered to customers. To date, three editions have been released. MIC is now an integrated part of mySAP ERP financial management solution. In early 2000, this team and other 20 developers from SAP headquarters in Germany and Czech Brno formed SEM-BCS R&D team. Later, it introduced Strategic Enterprise Management – Enterprise Report Solution: multiple editions for Siemens.
From 2005, the R&D of mySAP ERP solutions for industrial accounting and public sector accounting was initiated. Industrial solutions are new revenue streams for SAP, while one of them is public sector solution.
Main Products
Strategic Enterprise Management – Company Performance Management (SEM- CPM) solution. The products include Balanced Scorecard, Management Cockpit, Value Driver Tree. The products already delivered include SEM 2.0A, 31B, 3.20, and 3.50. Customers include Volkswagen, BHP Billition, Saudl Aramco, Procter & Gamble, China Telecom, and more.
Strategic Enterprise Management – Business Consolidation Solution. A new generation of SAP BW-based solution was developed. After SEM 3.1B, 3.20, 3.50, 4.00, ERP2004 and ERP2005 were competed, now ERP 2007 is being developed. Currently there are over 100 new users of ERP 2004, including Siemens, Lufthansa, Airbus, HP, NTT, and more.
CGV - MIC. Since the second half of 2003, BASIS6.20-based solutions package and the editions for ERP 2004 and ERP 2005 were introduced, serving over 70 customers. In ERP 2007, many new innovative technologies were used to conduct R&D. For example, SAP, German Telecom, Wolf Information Technology, Canadian Pacific Railway, etc.
In the future, this team will be committed to the R&D of new products for public sectors, insurance and telecommunication industries in terms of budget control and taxation, as well as developing new functions for ERP 2007.

Globalization Services & HCM Development Team
SAP Globalization Services & HCM Development Team was established in 1997, growing rapidly today. Currently, its responsibilities include R&D of mySAP human capital management solutions for over 30 countries worldwide; localization of payrolls across the world; R&D and update of SAP welfare solutions and HCM & Public core service solutions through the well-known unified SAP NetWeaver platform; R&D and update of core application functional modules for SAP campus management solutions; as well as professional R&D support to global customers in other sectors and other organizations of SAP.
Business Process Renovation Team SAP Business Process Renovation Team was founded in 2003. It is a global R&D team and committed to introducing innovative business processes into SAP solutions, so that they can be more efficient, flexible and automatic. The whole process can be improved significantly, and new technologies can be widely used. An example of this is Netweaver.
The Business Process Renovation (BPR) team cooperates closely with all product and technical teams of SAP to directly apply all innovative ideas into SAP solutions. This concept, which is focused on the process rather than the product, enables it to treat technical innovations in a broader view, so that the products can better fit customers' needs. So far, the BPR team already delivered Invoice Management System (IMS) to SAP SRM, which is used to enhance the processing of invoices. Now it is developing xCarrier project for cargo transportation, Darwin project for the management of marketing opportunities, and Sagres project for geographic information system integration.
SAP Custom Development China Team
SAP Custom Development China Team was founded in June, 2004. It is a global team and has a close cooperative relationship with SAP China. It is mainly dedicated to providing professional solutions in accordance with special customers' demands. SAP Linux Labs China SAP Linux Labs China was founded in 2004. As a global team, it currently however only collaborates with local Linux-related companies in China's market. The team conducts mySAP products certification on Linux platform and collaborates with SAP China teams and business partners to develop Linux/OSS-based SAP products. Based on the close cooperation with Chinese government and best application sharing, products can meet the standards established by Chinese government.
Till now, this team has developed R/3 4.7, BW3.1, NetWeaver04 software, which are used under Linux 4.1 and completely support the data management systems such as MaxDB, DB2 and Oracle, etc.; the corresponding SAP products for the users who use Linux/OSS on Chinese market, such as China International United Petroleum & Chemical Co., Ltd in Beijing and Great Wall Co., Ltd. in Northeast Asia; as well as the Linux edition of SAP Business One specially for Chinese SMBs in July, 2005.
