  • Publishers often extend their service portfolio by offering shipping services for products belonging to third parties.

     

    Using the distribution scenario for ad inserts, publishers deliver the ad inserts they have been provided within their distribution area. The sales order processing with the customer takes part in the SAP advertising management and through the integration with the distribution functionality, the issue mixes are created and the logistical functions are executed here.

    Generating Issue MixesSAP Component or Feature Available
    You can use this business process to determine the issue mixes for each issue and plant and assigns them to the existing deliveries.

    The issue mix reproduces different combinations of inserts (ad inserts) available with an issue.

    Once the issue mixes have been determined, no further changes can be made to the orders in question. However, this block can be removed by deleting the issue mixes by executing the function Generate issue mixes as a deletion run.

    This business process includes all the necessary activities for recording data for delta coverage or distribution of ad inserts (e.g. ad pre-prints, CDs or product samples) according to the ad insert orders in Advertising Management (IS-M/AM).

    You need this business process to be able to start the actual shipping process:

    Setting the order deadline is the prerequisite for executing the further shipping functions for a specific shipping date. Once you have set the order deadline, you should execute the netchange function for a shipping date. This function enables you to ensure that order changes saved shortly before the order deadline was set or while it was being set are included in the shipping procedure for the shipping date.

    Since shipping documents are created based on basis elements of the SAP R/3 System, you can change or enhance the standard shipping document types according to your company's requirements.

    You can use this business process to determine remuneration, flat rates and surcharges for home delivery services performed by service companies or by individual employees. Home delivery settlement includes both home delivery of Media Sales and Distribution products (newspapers, magazines) and of Advertising Management products (ad inserts such as ad pre-prints, CDs or product samples). Home delivery settlement is based on the data on the deliveries in the system.

    You can use this business process to record logistics problems that occur during delivery to customers – during transport from the plant to the customer – and that are reported by a person responsible for delivery, for example the driver or the carrier.

    This process is closely linked to output determination and to complaint processing in Media Sales and Distribution. Data entered in the system as a result of problem messages forms the basis for further functions and activities in problem processing.

    The information stored in the system can be used to trigger processing of the problem before the customers are affected.
