Channel Inventory Management and Reconciliation![]() |
SAP provides the ability to manage channel inventory by tracking
inventory balances as well as sell-in, and sell-through inventory.
SAP tracks the actual inventory and knows how long the inventory
has been in the channel and tracks and accrues the inventory
liability of the brand owner in case the inventory must be
purchased back from the channel. To keep these records accurate,
inventory reconciliation occurs regularly to insure inventory on
the books of the brand owner matches that of the distributor.
