Learn how SAP Visual Business can simplify the lives of business users and IT staff:
Scenes and visualization objects In SAP Visual Business, a scene is a graphical background realized as a 3D space, either on the basis of a map (3D geographical scene) or without a map (3D graphical scene). The scene typically contains visualization objects (VOs) that represent objects from business scenarios, such as factories, machines, or trucks – as well as your turnover, revenues, or spending value. The actual data behind the VOs is provided by SAP back-end systems. The concept involving scenes and VOs makes the visualization of business processes extremely flexible.
Properties and interactions The appearance and behavior of a VO are influenced by its properties and interactions. A tooltip or the size of a VO can represent, for example, the turnover resulting from business with a particular customer – while a click or a double-click on the VO can open a callout window with an overview of a warehouse’s current capacity. A VO can also provide you with a context menu that can lead to further actions.
As a result, VOs can be used to visualize nearly every kind of business data – and then connect it to the SAP Visual Business application. VOs also support drag and drop operations, which are completely under the application’s control.
Additional windows Take advantage of additional windows based on scenes. These windows can represent and illustrate further business data separated from data on the main scene – and provide added interaction capabilities.
Web Dynpro integration Seamlessly integrate SAP Visual Business into standard SAP functionality – using Web Dynpro. The data available within the Web Dynpro application can be used to illustrate business elements such as locations of factories, customers, or suppliers. These business elements can be directly displayed as VOs on a map in SAP Visual Business.
Personalization Adapt SAP Visual Business applications to better suit your needs – with configurable map settings, layouts, and more. Further personalize via additional entries in the map’s context menus.
Navigation and cache control Adjust camera positions on your main scenes with navigation controls. And use the cache tab to view actual cache location and contents – and to clear it completely.
Alert monitoring Rely on proactive, automated monitoring to ensure reliable operations for your SAP system environment. We’ll provide you with the infrastructure and recommendations needed to set up your alert monitoring – so you can quickly recognize critical situations for the SAP Visual Business ABAP component or the integrating application.
Log and trace files Use the SAP Visual Business client log and trace entries to identify internal program issues and events – and to help administrators detect and solve problems in the code version and installation.
