SAP UNIVERSITY ALLIANCES PROGRAM:

BENEFITS FOR FACULTY

Faculty professional development opportunities

Annually they bring together academics from around the world to exchange ideas and best practices, explore educational innovation, and present research on new directions in business and technology. At venues in multiple countries, this event offers workshops, discussion groups, and focused sessions organized around a variety of themes and discipline-related topics and issues.

The workshops are designed specifically for its University Alliances Program. Sessions are delivered by experienced facilitators from member campuses, and/or by SAP's topic experts. The workshops provide participants with a thorough understanding of the educational strategies and opportunities within the program, application-specific knowledge transfer, and robust studies. Participants can determine which aspects of SAP are most fitting for their own educational goals. Attendance at appropriate SAP customer training courses is also possible at a fee to be negotiated.

Curriculum content

To help jumpstart curriculum initiatives, SAP funds the development of easy-to-use, high-quality course materials, and makes them available for download. As a result, faculty new to the SAP University Alliances Program can easily create SAP-specific content for courses. Developed by members with significant program experience, these course materials are available in a range of academic disciplines. Curriculum content typically includes classroom presentations, exercises, problems, student handbooks, instructor notes and in some cases ready-to-use online demos and content lectures. Members are free to use and/or modify the materials to support their own, customized educational objectives.

Access to materials initiatives is available to Program members only. Members, please email your country manager for details on access

Educational hosting services

SAP has established University Competency Centers (UCCs) around the world to eliminate the need for individual campuses to make large investments in technical infrastructures and operational staffing. In turn, University Alliances members pay an annual hosting fee according to their hosting needs. In APJ, the UCC is QUT in Brisbane, Australia. Connections to SAP systems at a UCC are Internet browser-based or through the SAP graphical user interface (GUI). Program members can easily access SAP systems via a browser or the GUI from anywhere and at any time.

SAP Innovation Watch

SAP offers a portal, Innovation Watch, where program members can find the latest information on research, curriculum materials, and SAP-hosted events. Included are presentation materials and research papers from SAP-sponsored events. This is also the place where faculty can download course materials, and view or download ready-to-use online content.

Access to Innovation Watch is available to Program members only. Members, please email your country manager for details on access.

SAP BPERP certification workshops on campus

Understanding the needs for university students to have the opportunity to participate and sit for SAP courses and certification exams at a reduced rate, SAP now offers “Integrated Business Processes for mid-sized enterprises/mid-market organizations enabled by SAP Best Practices” or BP ERP course at University Alliances member institutions. The SAP BPERP certification which is recognized globally is the first step for the University Alliances students to embark on a certification pathway to becoming a full-fledged SAP consultant. The 10-day BPERP course will be conducted by the respective University Alliances members’ academics to their own students at the campuses. At the beginning, SAP will conduct a Train-the-trainer (TTT) BPERP workshop to enable university academics the understanding on how to teach BPERP course to their own students. After taking the course at the university, students will take their SAP BPERP certification exams at SAP designated sites at a fee. This fee is highly reduced from the fee the students will have to pay if they were to take the exams at SAP Training Academies directly.

The BPERP course and certification program has been successfully launched in Singapore with over 250 students taking the course and exams. For more information, please read the success stories here. This course will now be launched in Australia, China, India and many other APJ countries. If you are interested in offering BPERP in your school, please contact the Program Manager in your country.
