SAP and Oakton announce new vertical industry and government partnership for Australia

Strategic partnership to service resources, public sector, utilities and financial services industries

Sydney, Australia - October 29, 2009 - SAP Australia New Zealand and business consulting company Oakton (ASX: OKN) today announced a new vertical industry and government partnership initiative. Oakton will now provide SAP architecture and consulting services to enterprise clients and government agencies looking to introduce new SAP capability, or to develop their existing SAP investments and infrastructure.

Oakton’s range of SAP consulting services covers the following areas:

  • Business Process Improvement and Organisation Change Management
  • Enterprise Architecture Roadmap
  • Application Strategy, Development and Support
  • Process Integration and Portal Solutions
  • Data Management Solutions

Oakton will leverage its extensive experience in the SAP BusinessObjects suite to offer customers business intelligence solutions.

Oakton has appointed a founding member of SAP Australia, Sean Mathieson, to manage and drive the company’s SAP capability nationally. Mr Mathieson brings over ten years executive level Enterprise Solution experience and was previously SAP Australia’s Regional Consulting Director.

Neil Wilson, CEO, Oakton said, “This is an important strategic alliance that will provide considerable benefit and opportunity to SAP’s large commercial and public sector customers. Oakton is aligned with SAP’s growth initiatives and we expect to grow SAP’s customer base in vertical industries, by supporting existing customers as well as working with new customers.”
